Mattel’s “Pictionary,” hosted by Jerry O’Connell, premiered in national syndication on September 12, 2022, and is based on Mattel’s popular board game of quick sketches and hilarious guesses. The broadcast version of “Pictionary” follows the same rules of at-home play. Celebrity captains lead two teams of three as players draw clues for teammates to guess winning words or phrases. One player from the team draws images that depict a word of phrase found on a card chosen at random, in an effort to have their fellow teammates guess the correct word or phrase on the card. The grand prize winner receives a trip to an exotic destination.
Some of the exciting celebrity team captains this season include: Rebecca Romijn, Adam Rippon, Amanda Seales, Kevin Frazier, Nischelle Turner, Melissa Peterman, Ross Mathews, Carson Kressley, Jaleel White, Natalie Morales, Akbar Bajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Jennie Garth and more.
Launched in 1985, Pictionary quickly grew to become the ultimate recreational activity for kids and adults alike. In 2019, Mattel reinvented the classic game in an interactive digital format. Dubbed Pictionary Air, the product won 2020 Toy of the Year (TOTY) in Toy Association's annual ranking, regarded as the “Oscars” of the toy industry. Pictionary is available in more than 30 languages and nearly 40 countries.
“Pictionary” is executive produced by David Hurwitz, Noah Bonnett and Richard Brown. Fred Soulie, SVP & GM of Mattel Television and Phil Breman, VP Live-Action, serve as Co-Executive Producers for Mattel. The 30-minute national daytime series is produced by Fox First Run and Bill’s Market and Television Production and distributed by CBS Media Ventures (CMV). The show airs on Fox-owned stations in major markets, among other stations nationwide.
