Ann Mercogliano joined INSIDE EDITION as a New York-based Correspondent in August 2015. Mercogliano covers everything from breaking news and exclusive interviews to feature stories and in-depth investigations.

Mercogliano shined during her extensive coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic from the epicenter of New York City.

Mercogliano’s work in investigations was recognized in 2017 with a Clarion Award for her investigative report which found that some hotels did not change their bed sheets between guests. In July 2017, she appeared on “The Dr. Oz Show” to discuss her investigation into chemical-free insect repellents.

Mercogliano and the INSIDE EDITION team were acknowledged in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 with a Daytime Emmy® nomination for Outstanding Entertainment News Program. She has also earned individual nominations for her work throughout her career.

A graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Mercogliano majored in Sociology and minored in Journalism. While attending GW, she landed an internship at The White House in the Office of Media Affairs. While serving for one semester in the position was rare, at the end of her term, Mercogliano was asked to return for a second semester. After working at The White House, Mercogliano served as an intern for ABC's “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

After graduation, Mercogliano pursued her dream of a career in journalism, landing a job at the assignment desk at WNBC in New York City. While in NYC, she also worked at the assignment desk at NY1 and WCBS-TV. Mercogliano soon landed her first reporting job in Valdosta, Ga.,where she reported for the CBS affiliate WCTV, and eventually served as the bureau chief. Mercogliano then moved up markets to WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pa., where she helped open the Lebanon County Bureau. There, she covered many local news stories that went national, including the three-week Michael Roseboro murder trial. She also covered the 2008 Presidential election in Pennsylvania.

In 2010, Mercogliano returned home to New York City, fulfilling her dream of reporting in her hometown. She worked for News 12 Networks and WNBC’s “New York Live” where she was sent to London to cover the royal wedding and also filed local news reports on her days off. While working there, she received an Emmy nomination for her London coverage. Mercogliano was later recruited to WCBS-TV to report on the morning show. She was one of the first reporters at the Breezy Point fire during Hurricane Sandy. She also covered the Sandy Hook tragedy and the aftermaths of Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Irene. Mercoglianothen joined WPIX and served as a lead reporter on the 10 p.m. newscast.

Mercogliano says she entered the business to always help others and ask the hardest questions. She currently resides in New York with her husband, son and daughter.
