New York, NY — March 15, 2017 – INSIDE EDITION’s Steven Fabian speaks exclusively with President Trump’s former tax accountant Jack Mitnick, who prepared his taxes for 30 years, but did not prepare the 2005 tax returns that were leaked.

The documents were mailed anonymously to reporter David Cay Johnston, who gave them to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. She shared the documents on her show on Tuesday.

Since then, conspiracy theories are swirling about whether Trump himself might be behind the leak, or if the accounting firm that prepared his taxes or someone in the IRS was responsible.

Mitnick weighs in on the mystery telling INSIDE EDITION that he has “no idea” who leaked the documents, but adds that because the tax return was marked “client copy,” the accounting firm that prepared the taxes would have delivered it only to Trump.  “The taxpayer has control of his copy. We don’t control it,” Mitnick tells INSIDE EDITION.
