September 29, 2025 – In exclusive archived video footage taken by INSIDE EDITION, country music star Kellie Pickler is seen on the 2012 CMT Awards red carpet with Marine Sergeant Nigel Max Edge, who is now at the center of a mass shooting investigation. Edge, a Marine sniper who suffered a brain injury after being shot in the head in Iraq, was visibly scarred and accompanied by his service dog when he attended the awards show as Pickler’s date. Over the weekend, he allegedly opened fire at American Fish Company bar in North Carolina, killing three and injuring eight. Thirteen years ago, he and Pickler appeared together in an interview with INSIDE EDITION’s Megan Alexander. Earlier this year, Edge filed a lawsuit against Pickler, accusing her of trying to poison him that night. [The lawsuit was dismissed by a federal magistrate judge who called Edge’s claims ‘so delusional they are simply unbelievable'.]

“I got my date here tonight and we're going to have a good time…we met a couple of months ago and he invited me to a gala,” Pickler told INSIDE EDITION.
