New York, NY – September 10, 2024 – The Spirit Airlines gate attendants who were caught on video having a meltdown and yelling at passengers are speaking out to INSIDE EDITION about what really happened that day.

Customer service representative Sara Jane Barrow and her supervisor Razia Singh explained to INSIDE EDITION how the incident began at the Burbank airport.

They say computers were down and they could not check in passengers, take any baggage, or assign seats.

Razia says, “I was trying to pick up the pieces, and explain to the crowd, I’m doing everything I can, give me a second.”

The duo also say that they were trying to deal simultaneously with some 300 passengers from delayed flights and that some of the fliers had been waiting eight hours in the terminal.

Barrow tells INSIDE EDITION that at first her public address announcements were professional and polite, but then she lost it. When asked if there was a moment that caused her to lose control she says, “I think it was just everything. It was the pressure, nobody was listening.”

Barrow also says she was embarrassed upon first seeing the video. “I felt absolutely mortified. I just wanted to melt on the floor,” she tells INSIDE EDITION.

Both women say they have been fired from their jobs over the incident. Barrow admits that she feels guilty over her supervisor being let go. “I get if you could let me go but to let her go? She wasn't the one that was projecting very loudly. She was trying to make light of an already crazy situation that was going on,” she says about Razia being fired.

Sprit Airlines responded with the below statement:

“We are aware of the video, and the two agents involved are no longer working with Spirit following the completion of our vendor’s internal investigation into the matter. We apologize to our guests for this experience, which does not reflect Spirit’s high standards for guest service.”
