New York, NY – November 10, 2023 – She’s the woman known as “Crazy Plane Lady” after her epic meltdown on an airplane made headlines. In an interview airing Friday, INSIDE EDITION speaks with Tiffany Gomas, who opens up about what happened onboard in her first televised interview since the video went viral with over 450 million views.

“I stayed at home for over four weeks because I was so ashamed and embarrassed,” Gomas tells INSIDE EDITION.

The incident occurred on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Orlando. In the video, Gomas, 39, can be seen yelling, “I’m telling you right now, that [expletive] back there is not real...I’m telling you I’m getting the [expletive] off and there’s a reason why I’m getting the [expletive] off...And you can sit on this plane and you can die with him or not.”

She says she was heading to a family vacation when she just lost it. To the people who claim Gomas was drunk or on drugs, she says, “I had an altercation and I felt very strongly that I needed to get off the plane.”

According to the police report, Gomas was “arguing” with a fellow passenger, “accusing them of stealing her air pods.” During the altercation, Gomas demands the plane return to the gate, and it does.

INSIDE EDITION asks what she meant by the comment heard in the video, “that [expletive] back there is not real?”

Gomas clarifies that she wasn’t saying this person is not a real person. “It was a figure of speech, he's not being real,” Gomas tells INSIDE EDITION.

She has since become one of this year’s top Halloween costumes and subject of many spoofs. She thinks they’re funny. “I’m finally able to come out on the other side and able to laugh at things,” says Gomas.

And, even she admits, she’s annoyed by the way her voice sounded in the video. “Oh god, I can’t hear that voice,” Gomas tells INSIDE EDITION.

Gomas has since been banned from American Airlines. Despite the worldwide attention she’s received, she says she’s focusing on her marketing and real estate ventures.

Airing Monday is part two of the interview, where INSIDE EDITION is taking Gomas onboard a plane.
