New York, NY – Sept 12, 2023 – Blair Featherman, dubbed “Poolside Karen,” earned infamy after being caught on camera hurling insults at a family who were enjoying themselves at an apartment complex pool. Now, she’s speaking out for the first time in an INSIDE EDITION exclusive airing Tuesday.

The incident happened over the July 4th weekend. Featherman says she was enjoying a sunny day at the pool when she saw some people she didn’t recognize. “We noticed a party gathering on the other side of the pool and it was getting bigger and bigger and bigger,” Featherman tells INSIDE EDITION.

She says she was concerned because the apartment complex had a problem with pool hoppers. “People try and wait for the gate to open and come in, and stay all day,” says Featherman.

Featherman and a man who identified himself as her boyfriend asked one of the partygoers to see their key fob. “I think he said ‘no,’ and we were like, ‘we’ll just call security,’” Featherman tells INSIDE EDITION.

She then alleges she walked back to her lounge chair on the other side of the pool, and that’s when some partygoers rushed over and attacked her.

“They swarmed over like a swarm of bees, it was very fast,” says Featherman. “I got pushed first by a man, and then the women jumped on me.”

Featherman shared exclusive video with INSIDE EDITION. She says it proves she was assaulted.

She also claims her cell phone was stolen and as the assault continued. “I was literally curled up in a ball, trying to do as much as I could to get them from getting in close to me,” Featherman tells INSIDE EDITION. “I poked some eyes and I think I pulled a girl’s hair, but it was in defense because I had four women on top of me.”

She also says she found fake fingernails in her hair. “They ripped off in my head when they were attacking me,” says Featherman.

Devon Corday, Featherman’s friend, called 9-1-1. Featherman says the now-viral video was recorded after the assault, while Coday was still on the phone with 9-1-1.

“I'm running around looking for my phone,” says Featherman. “9-1-1 is being called, I see this girl recording me, so I grabbed it. But then I gave it back 5 minutes later.”

INSIDE EDITION asks Featherman if she is racist.

“Absolutely not,” Featherman tells INSIDE EDITION. However, she says she apologizes for the incident. “I completely apologize for saying what I did about the pool party.”
