New York, NY — September 28, 2020 – Real Housewives star Kyle Richards posted a photo on Instagram which claimed her late mother’s ring ended up on the hands of a fortune teller. In an exclusive airing on Monday, INSIDE EDITION speaks with Diana French, the woman whose hands were plastered across social media – who says she’s neither a fortune teller or a jewel thief.

French is actually a retired pharmacy clerk from Los Angeles, and is furious that her hands went viral in connection with Richards' Instagram post.

I don’t deserve this,” French tells INSIDE EDITION.

Last week, the Real Housewives star shared a photo that claimed a fortune teller was wearing her deceased mother’s ring that was stolen from her mansion in 2017. The photo was initially posted by Diane Keaton, who said the photo was of a fortune teller in Santa Monica, CA.

When French’s granddaughter Maddie learned her grandmother’s hands were featured in the Instagram post, she took to TikTok.

She’s standing up for grandma, it makes me proud,” French tells INSIDE EDITION.

French says much to her embarrassment, many of her relatives recognized her hands when the story went viral.

My twin sister called and said, ‘Diana, you’re on google,’” says French.

The story behind the ring? It was a gift from her father.

My mother was killed 40 years ago and my dad gave me her band,” French tells INSIDE EDITION

French shared the ring’s appraisal from 1980. At the time, the ring was worth $2,500.

She also shared family photos, showing she’s been wearing the ring for decades, and even then she had those long black fingernails.

I’ve always had long nails,” says French. “I am totally lost without them”

French doesn’t remember the photo being taken, but she does remember the actress was her customer years ago.

That picture of my hands was taken on the counter of the pharmacy,” French tells INSIDE EDITION.

Now, French wants an apology from Kyle Richards and Diane Keaton.
