New York, NY — August 11, 2016 – INSIDE EDITION has obtained photos of the teen who climbed Trump Tower in New York on Wednesday. He has been identified as Stephen Rogata, a 19-year-old from Great Falls, Va. Police confirmed to INSIDE EDITION that his birth name is Michael Joseph Ryan.
The photos show a younger-looking Rogata, and INSIDE EDITION has learned that he once had an internship with the Fairfax County Republican Committee and attended Langley High School in McLean, Va.
After a dramatic hours-long encounter, Rogata was captured by police as he tried to scale past the 21st floor of the building. He was then taken to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
On Thursday police charged Rogata with reckless endangerment and trespassing. Police said that Rogata told them he climbed the wall because he wanted to meet Donald Trump.
