New York, NY—April 10, 2013—INSIDE EDITION speaks exclusively to the father of Marine Sergeant Joshua Brightman, whose videotaped road rage went viral last week.

Dr. Peter Brightman, a Los Angeles area dentist, does not defend what his son did, but defends him as a person, and wants people to remember that Joshua put his life on the line for the United States.

DR. BRIGHTMAN: “He’s willing to die for his country. How many of us are willing to do that? And to vilify him in any way, I think is wrong.”

Dr. Brightman believes his son, who did tours of duty in Afghanistan, is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

DR. BRIGHTMAN: “One of the issues involved here is clearly post-traumatic stress.”
