MITT ROMNEY’S SISTER, JANE, TALKS EXCLUSIVELY WITH ‘INSIDE EDITION’ IN TWO-PART INTERVIEW

To Be Broadcast Nationally TODAY, November 9th and Monday, November 12th

New York, NY—November 9, 2012—INSIDE EDITION’S Jim Moret has obtained an exclusive interview with Jane Romney, the oldest sister of the Republican Presidential nominee.

Jane Romney, a 75-year-old actress who bizarrely portrayed Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra in a 2009 short film, tells INSIDE EDITION about the toll losing the election had on Mitt’s family, especially his wife Ann.

INSIDE EDITION: “How was Ann when you spoke to her?”

JANE ROMNEY: “She was crying. She was very emotional. For Ann, it was definitely shellshock.”

INSIDE EDITION: “Ann has said she is done with politics. What’s next?”

JANE ROMNEY: “Well, she's married to Mitt. She is speaking on an emotional level.  She won't want to be in a race like this again.”

INSIDE EDITION:  “How is her health?”

JANE ROMNEY: “I have every confidence she will do all right.  She has faith. She's come through a lot. She knows what she's made of.”

She also divulges what she thinks went wrong with Mitt Romney’s campaign.

INSIDE EDITION: “What were the biggest mistakes in the campaign?”

JANE ROMNEY: “I feel like our family could have helped more. But we were scared we’d be on the 6PM news, misspeaking.”

Jane, who lives in Beverly Hills, says that allegations that she was the “secret” sister of the Romney family are false.

JANE ROMNEY: “I feel I’ve gone a different way. I wanted to be an actress.”

Though she has no political ambitions, Jane is a decidedly protective sister and comes to the defense of her brother, primarily over the scandal the presidential contender faced when it was reported he traveled with Seamus, the family dog, strapped to the roof of their car. She even tells INSIDE EDITION that the dog was her’s.

JANE ROMNEY: “He was my dog…It’s a crate. That’s how they travel. Here’s the deal. All these stupid little stories are fabricated and it hurt.”

Jane also reveals to INSIDE EDITION that the Romney family feels Mitt was depicted unfairly in the media.

INSIDE EDITION: “Are you angry over the way your brother was portrayed?”

JANE ROMNEY: “Yes. He was vilified.”

Part two of the interview airs nationally on Monday, November 12th.
