New York, NY—October 31, 2012—Nicole Alvarez, the girlfriend of Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop star Michael Jackson, speaks exclusively to INSIDE EDITION’S Jim Moret, for the first time since her boyfriend’s incarceration.

Murray is currently serving a four year sentence at LA County’s notorious Men’s Central Jail – the same prison where O.J. Simpson was formerly incarcerated. Alvarez, who has a three-year old son with Murray, tells INSIDE EDITION that she has not told their child of his father’s whereabouts.

INSIDE EDITION: “Where does your son think his dad is?”

ALVAREZ: “He believes he is working. He has asked me several times, ‘Mom, where is poppy?’”

She also reveals to INSIDE EDITION that Murray is not taking prison life well, and says that he was suicidal upon entering prison.

ALVAREZ: “Living in jail is hell on Earth.”

Alvarez tells INSIDE EDITION she is standing by Murray’s side, visiting him every week and speaking to him three times a week by phone. Her association with him has been tough on her, as well. Alvarez, an actress, tells INSIDE EDITION that she has been “shunned” by Hollywood, and that both she and Murray continually receive death threats.

ALVAREZ: “He was made the villain, and I was made the villainess…I was imprisoned in my home for two years.”

Alvarez maintains to INSIDE EDITION that Murray is not a killer and was unfairly convicted. She also says that Murray still believes he did nothing wrong in caring for the singer – in fact, the doctor was trying to get his patient off of drugs.

ALVAREZ: “He [Murray] was trying to clean up the mess, and it fell on him like he was the hot potato.”

ALVAREZ: “He is sorry for the loss, but to be apologetic is to accept fault.”
