OUTRAGED MOTHER SPEAKS EXCLUSIVELY WITH INSIDE EDITION ABOUT HER DAUGHTER’S MURDERER

“There’s no way she could even be human to do that to a child.” – Patty Preiss, mother of 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten

To be broadcast Thursday, Feb. 15

New York, NY – Feb 15thThe devastated mother of nine-year-old Elizabeth Olten, who authorities say was brutally murdered simply for the thrill of it—is speaking out for the first time about her daughter’s juvenile killer. Olten was lured into the woods near their home in Jefferson City, MO, by then 15-year-old neighbor Alyssa Bustamante. Bustamante went on to strangle and stab Elizabeth to death that evening.

Patty Preiss, mother of Olten, wipes away tears as she speaks about the 2009 murder that shocked the nation.

INSIDE EDITION: “She {Bustamante} had a grave ready to bury her, didn’t she?”

PREISS: “She dug the grave five days before…she did it for her own enjoyment. She wanted to know what it was like to kill somebody.”

Preiss tells INSIDE EDITION she is enraged by a deal that allowed Bustamante to plead guilty last week to second degree murder. The now 18-year-old killer was sentenced to life in prison, but is still eligible for parole in 35 years when she’d be in her early fifties. Preiss tells INSIDE EDITION the District Attorney said he made the deal because he was worried a jury might let Bustamante walk free.

PREISS: “She’s not human. There’s no way she could even be human to do that to a child.”

INSIDE EDITION is produced daily by Inside Edition Inc. and distributed by CBS Television Distribution.
