FIRST LOOK AT THE WOMAN AT THE HEART OF THE SCANDAL INVOLVING REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL U.S. SEN. JOHN ENSIGN OF NEVADA

To Be Broadcast: Tuesday, June 23, 2009

New York, NY - June 23, 2009 - Her name is Cindy Hampton.  She is the staffer who allegedly had an affair with Republican Presidential hopeful U.S. Senator John Ensign of Nevada.  Ensign admitted last week to the affair.   INSIDE EDITION obtained the first look at  photos of Hampton including one in which she and her husband are posed with the Senator and his wife taken in 2001 at a 20th high school reunion.

According to former classmates, Cindy Hampton (known as Cindy Barnes at the time) and the Senator's wife, Darlene, were close friends in high school in California.  Both women wrote about their lives in the 2001 reunion yearbook.

Hampton writes:  "Doug and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary...Life is awesome and we are truly blessed."

In the same yearbook, Darlene Ensign writes, "We have been very committed to our family and Christ...It's been a great rollercoaster ride so far!"

The foursome was reportedly tight, and the Hamptons worked for Ensign.  But things went sour last year when Doug Hampton says he found about an affair between the Senator and Cindy.
