EXCLUSIVE: GARY, SON OF JERRY LEWIS, AGREES TO TAKE A DNA TEST REGARDING ALLEGED HALF-SISTER
-- DNA Results to be broadcast on Inside Edition in March --
New York, NY - February 19, 2009 - For a report to air on INSIDE EDITION, Jerry Lewis's son, Gary - of Gary Lewis and the Playboys fame - has agreed to submit to a DNA test in an effort determine if Suzan Lewis (aka Suzan Minoret) is his half-sister. Jerry Lewis, who is to be honored on Sunday at the 81st Academy Awards, has never publicly acknowledged Suzan as his daughter and declined comment for an Inside Edition report last month on the paternity claims made by Suzan.
According to Suzan, her mother had an affair with Lewis and Suzan was conceived in a suite above the famous Copacobana nightclub in New York City. At the time Lewis was performing with Dean Martin.
Suzan, who resembles Jerry Lewis, told INSIDE EDITION her mother made the stunning statement after being diagnosed with cancer and even signed an affidavit attesting that the legendary funny-man was her father.
Suzan Lewis: "She didn't want to die and me not know where I came from."
Suzan's life is a far cry from that of a Hollywood legend's daughter. She says she has been down and out due to injuries suffered in a nearly fatal car accident, had lived on the streets, and survives on a meager disability allowance.
The results of Gary Lewis' DNA test will be broadcast on Inside Edition in March. Exact date TBD.
INSIDE EDITION is produced daily at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and produced and distributed by CBS Television Distribution, a unit of CBS Corp. http://www.insideedition.com/
