CBS News Flagship Broadcast Gains Viewers Year-Over-Year Growth Streak, Narrows Gap with Competition

The “CBS Evening News” Is the #1 CBS Show Monday-Wednesday and Ranks #1 in Adults 25-54 for All CBS Shows on Wednesday and Friday

The CBS EVENING NEWS with NORAH O’DONNELL scored a season-high in total viewers and extended its season-high 25-54-year-old audience for a second week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week of Monday, Nov. 30. The broadcast had its best total viewer audience since April 2020 and grew year-over-year in both total viewers and adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, outpacing NBC. The CBS EVENING NEWS with NORAH O’DONNELL was also the #1 show on the CBS Television Network Monday-Wednesday and was #1 in adults 25-54 on Wednesday and Friday.

The CBS EVENING NEWS with NORAH O’DONNELL was up +9% in total viewers (6.4m from 5.9m) and +6% in adults 25-54 (1.18m from 1.12m) year-over-year. In the key demo, CBS’s growth surpassed NBC, which lost viewers year-over-year. The broadcast narrowed the gap with NBC in the demo to its smallest in eight weeks and among total viewers to its smallest in ten months (February 2020).

The CBS EVENING NEWS with NORAH O’DONNELL is up season-to-date by +3% in total viewers and +1% in adults 25-54, outpacing NBC.
