Drew & Halle on Viewing Menopause as a Renewal

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/oN5Wasx8XIY1

Drew: Check this out, what if we looked at menopause as a renewal and not a decline? So, konenki is the Japanese way of embracing menopause, which holds space for transition, growth, and most importantly, renewal. Menopause isn't treated as a loss but a continuation of personal evolution. I'll hold my thoughts and give it to you.

Halle: I mean, I couldn't have said that better myself. I think being in this stage of life, I'm 60 this year, I have never felt better. I have never felt better in my whole life. I feel so renewed. I feel stronger, wiser, smarter, more empowered, more ready to be my best self and so I love that that's how they're looking at it we should adopt that because they know what they're talking about. This is part of life, right? We have to not only reframe it for ourselves as women, we have to reframe it for people around us, you know what I mean? We have to reframe culture.

Drew: I think you are single-handedly doing that too, you're making it fun and sexy, the whole tone is changing.

Halle Reveals She Still Has James Bond Bikini

Valerie: I just need to know do you still have the bikini from James Bond?

Halle: Yep.

Valerie: That picture still I can see it in my mind. It was like, ‘Yeah baby you go.’

Drew: It lives rent free in all of our minds.

Halle Reveals She’d Love to Play Zendaya’s Mom in a Role

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/X2s3NZqNGkMY

Drew: Kate Hudson is really eager to work with a certain actor. She wants to work with, guess what? Her mom, Goldie Hawn. And they have not yet achieved this monumental goal that I know we would all really love and benefit from. Halle, is there anyone that you would like to work with?

Halle: There's an actress that I love with every fiber of my being. I love her and I would love to play her mother. Zendaya. By the way, I could play her mom, right? I could play her mom 100%.

Drew: I would be there for that. I want to see that. That makes so much sense.

Halle: I would kill, right?

Drew: Okay, Steve, universe, Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, Halle Berry and Zendaya. I think we've solved the world's problems.

Halle on Her New Side Hustle of Rescuing Kittens

Drew: Did you find kittens somewhere?

Halle: I can't stop finding kittens. They show up in my back yard, and they just scream they're out there. I'm turning into a cat lady. I have four now.

Drew: I mean, you are a cat woman, so you know, maybe they, maybe that's the call. Maybe they understand. How are you handling a litter of kittens?

Halle: This isn't official, but I look at them, I have named my rescue Hearts and Paws, and I have found countless kittens, but I also try to catch the moms and the dads and get them fixed because that's how I fix the problem, right? And so I capture them, get them all tied up, and then I've kept four of the kitties, but now I have to stop. And I have two dogs too, so four is a lot, but I've taken this on as like my side hustle in my neighborhood to sort of fix the problem in my neighborhood.

Drew: And good for you, that was, that's the thing, spay and neuter your pet. Remember Bob Barker at the end of Every Price Is Right, spay and neuter your pet.

Halle on “Crime 101” Being a Dream Job

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/XdUJzzcDF0H1
Drew: Is it true Chris Hemsworth was like excited, intimidated, and had like big feelings about working with you? I mean, the Chris Hemsworth.

Halle: He says that, but I don't believe that. I can tell you this, Drew, I've been doing this for 30 years. I have never been so taken care of by a group of men in my entire career, maybe only James Bond, when I worked with Pierce. These meant my feet didn't hit the ground working with these guys from Chris to Bart, our director to Mark, like they just respected me. They championed all of my ideas, they lifted me up, made sure I was OK every day. Like it was a dream. They set the bar, so I don't know if I'll ever be able to work again.

Halle on Being Defined By Her Age as a Woman in Hollywood

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/QN6B3cFO1GxX

Drew: And I believe this is an Ode to 59.

Halle: That was ode to 59, yes.

Drew: I mean, hello 59. And did you turn 60?

Halle: I'm 60 this year.

Drew: I’ll be 51 this year.

Halle: And we have to stop, you know, I do feel like when you read about a woman, at least in our business, the age always precedes them.

I was sitting with Chris and Mark and I was complaining about how come my age always has to be talked about and your age is not. I'm like, I don't even know how old you dudes are, but you all know how old I am.

Drew: Why is that?

Halle: We know, come on we know why…because we're defined by that and they're not.

Right? But I don't have a problem with my age. I just wish their age had to precede their name also, you know what I mean? And then, it's fine because we should not be ashamed of our age. I'm not at all ashamed to be 60. I just don't like the sexism of it all.

Drew: Quite the opposite, you're loud and proud about it, and I totally understand what you're talking about. I know exactly what discrepancy you're speaking of. I try not to focus on it, but you're telling the truth and you're absolutely right about that, and that is some BS.

Michelle Randolph on Billy Bob Thorton

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/PG7hrCY9UBnC

Drew: I love Billy Bob Thornton, by the way. He is such a lovely, present, cool, funny, relaxed.

Michelle: He's perfect. He's perfect. I was not expecting that. I had absolutely no idea what to expect, but all my scenes when I first booked the show, I only had the first two scripts, and most of my scenes are with him, and I'm thinking, God, like what, all I know is that he drank Angelina Jolie's blood or something. Which I since have asked him about, I can't lie,

Drew: When you talk to him about that, is he like, ‘Oh yeah, like whatever, just a, it's a story in my arsenal.’

Michelle: Fully. He just, I mean, he's just ease. If ease was a person, that's who he is.

Drew: You're like, ‘You won an Academy Award.’ I feel like that would also fall in the, ‘Yeah, like.’

Michelle: But that's why he's so good at what he does. I think you, you think someone with his resume is going to be so intimidating, but instead he's such a great actor because he pulls honesty out of you and he settles you in a scene and in life, and I tend to like talk a lot and move fast and he just makes me want to just chill.

Michelle’s Parenting Advice to Drew

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/awhNaduZGloA

Drew: I have two girls, they're 17 months apart. What do I need to know?

Michelle: You're, how old are your daughters?

Drew: Frankie will be 12 and Olive will be 14.

Michelle: OK, I don't know if they're going to let you do this, but when my sister and I used to argue when we were younger, my mom would make us touch noses. So like any time we got in an argument, we would have to keep our noses, and she was, I mean, if we broke away from one another, she would make us keep touching noses until we would start laughing and make up. And so I think it taught us that any argument we get in, it can be over within 5 minutes, and we can go back to laughing and being ourselves, so like we never stay mad at each other for longer than a few minutes.

Drew: Oh my God, I'm so excited.

Michelle: You have to let me know if this works.

Drew: Are you kidding? I'm getting your phone number. I won't stalk you.

Michelle: You can.

Drew: And I will tell you how it is going.

Michelle & Drew on Their Scariest Dates & Biggest Pet Peeves

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/HE5WHt1ginnN

Ghostface: Where is the scariest date you've ever been on?

Drew: Ghostface, it was awful. He was a total creep and he got way too drunk and it was just so uncomfortable. I know your turn.

Michelle: Okay, I was on the back of a jet ski in North Shore Oahu and the waves, I'm not kidding, in my head they were as tall as a skyscraper, and I thought I was going to die and drown.

Drew: Ghostface, next question.

Ghostface: We all get mad sometimes. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Michelle: It's always, I always write down my pet peeves when I'm traveling or I'm on a flight because I have, I have travel rage for some reason. And, when a pilot is talking or a flight attendant is talking so close to the speaker that you can't hear what they're saying and all it's so loud and it happens for the entire six-hour flight, there's nothing that makes me angrier. And I hate being ignored, that's probably makes more sense.

Drew: Interesting. I wonder where that stems from.

Michelle: We can get into that.

Drew: I look forward to it. Literally, that's my favorite thing…What was the question, oh, pet peeve. Obviously, rude people. There's a place for you.
