Drew: I miss the eighties. By the way, speaking of, did we make out at Carrie Fisher's house?

Amanda: I feel like that might have happened.

Drew: It's so nice to see you again. I feel like Matthew Perry was there.

Amanda: Yes, he was.

Drew: Yes it was at Carrie Fisher's house. Listen again, life used to be so much more fun.

Amanda Opens Up About Her Cancer Diagnosis

Drew: I loved your article so much, it's entitled The Season of Ativan, and you were diagnosed with breast cancer and simultaneously had both parents on separate coasts in hospice and passing away as well.

Amanda: Yes, yeah, I mean, I was diagnosed on a Saturday morning, the Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend, and then that evening my sister called and was like you need to get on a plane to New York to see your dad, yeah, and I missed it, you know, he passed away before I got there, but I was able to be with his body and I was able to be with my sister and with my stepmother and so like with everything they're very beautiful things that come out of these tragedies.

Drew: Even including how you acknowledge that it was a distraction from your own diagnosis that was still at that point very unknown and could be, about to be revealed as much worse.

Amanda: Yes, and, and they told me I have lobular cancer which when you look it up, I mean it is scary because.

Drew: And your husband said don't Google it.

Amanda: Yes, my husband and I have various deals where we're like stay off the Internet. And this was of course one of them, but I had, it was too late. I had already looked up globular cancer, which is a slightly more rare form of breast cancer than ductal, and it's underresearched, and the thing that's really scary about it is that it doesn't turn into a lump.

Drew: It becomes strings, right? You describe it so well you educated people so much. This is life saving information and that's what I really discerned and ascertained from your article. You're such a good writer.

Amanda on Her and Her Husband Having a Picture of Drew on Their Fridge

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/nPsd2DAblA1P

Amanda: Wait, I just have to tell you that the place we lived for 16 years before we moved, we had a picture of you on our fridge for like from the get-go of ‘Game of Thrones’ wearing a t-shirt that said Mother of Dragons.

Drew: Yes, you have that picture? It's one of my most favorite images of my life because through your husband's writing and creating of a character in Khaleesi that any woman could claim to be the mother of dragons, it empowered us all, and holding those two babies on my hips, I never thought my journey would go there. I didn't even know if I would be alive. I didn't know if I would be a parent. I didn't know if I would be a good parent, and that moment is one of the proudest of my life and it's completely in honor of your family.

Amanda: It was on my fridge for like a decade.
