Bert Kreischer on Finding the Regular Parents at Drop Off

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/vcZ15SGMFa6F

Drew: I love your show so much. I am the one at the pickup line who is not dressed like everybody else. I am a total embarrassment to my kids, and yet I know they love me and they're on my side, but they're just naturally being themselves. There's no BS, you know, trophy stuff going on in your show. I was like this is so close to my real life.

Bert: That is exactly what I tried to do. I tried to do two things. I wanted to do a series where by that first episode you're hooked on that character, you're hooked on this journey, and you wanna watch all six at the same tim and I wanted to make it so like parents like us felt normal because you go to these snotty schools sometimes and their parents are like, they're dressed up, they have hair and makeup and they're in nice cars and I'm like, what's the payment on that car? Their houses are huge. I go, wait, I make a lot of money, how do you afford that house? And then, and then they treat you weird and they're like, you'll be here at 6 a.m. for moving tables on Sunday, and you're like, aren't, don't you drink? What are we doing here? And then, and, and I'm telling you that is the biggest compliment I could get paid for a regular parent to see this and go, that's my journey. But you put out the feelers as a parent at drop-off and then other parents kind of like find their way to you like I heard you ran a triathlon and you're like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, and they're like oh you're fat, how did you do that? And you're like, oh you're a regular person, OK, perfect.

Bert on His Group Call with Daughter Georgia & Her Friends From College About Meeting Drew

Drew: Where have you been all of my parenting life?

Bert: The reason you like this show is because your kids are the exact age as the girls in it.

Drew: And you have Georgia and Isla.

Bert: My daughter Georgia is watching right now. She is, her and her friends at college are such huge fans of yours. You have no idea. I was on a group call with all of them last night. They have a list of questions that are inappropriate for this show that they are.

Drew: Are you sure, have you seen this show?

Bert: I'm 100% sure, and they are like they are obsessed with you. You are their quote unquote queen. And this is like this is my flex to my oldest.

Drew: Oh my god I would have never guessed or assumed anything like that.

Bert & Drew Laugh Cry About Parenting

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/8kHxklqHSi3r

Bert: The only thing I miss the most is just having kids in the house, you know?

Drew: You’re a really good dad.

Bert:…Are we going to cry right now? Don’t do this.

Drew: I have two teenage girls and I’m raising them and I look at you I think you are a really good dad and I’m just trying to figure this all out. Do you have any advice for me because I’m really in it? How am I going to ever make it through this any advice?

Bert: Don’t beat yourself up.

Drew: Seriously.

Bert: I swear to God.

Drew: That’s all I do.

Bert: I can’t believe I’m crying. If I look back as me as a dad I messed up so much. Georgia is watching this right going, ‘Keep going dad, keep talking.’ I messed up so much, I was gone a lot. I wasn’t make a ton of money. I was career focused, I just thought I’ve got to get these kids to college, I’ve got to set them up. I can’t be the loser dad that just is a comic. And in hind-sight I just go, I’ve got a great relationship with them, I’ve got a great relationship with Leann, everything I did was for this moment and we are all good now. Just don’t beat yourself up, just try to get to tomorrow you know? You’re amazing.

Desi Lydic on Being a Big “Daily Show” Fan Before Joining the Show

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/TfBwZ9si1PII
Drew: When did you become aware of ‘The Daily Show’ in your own like life and experience?

Desi: Oh, I came up watching ‘The Daily Show.’ I watched Jon religiously all through my twenties. Yeah, the Jon Stewart, no one like him. I just, I had so much admiration and reverence for what he did, his insight and his humor, and just the way that they juggled, sort of, you know,  the way they would shine a spotlight on issues and say something so meaningful and impactful but also be incredibly silly. Like I have a 14-year-old boy sense of humor.

Drew: Oh my god, I say I have a 13-year-old boy, we would be best friends. Skinned knees and like bicycle fart jokes all day long, all day.

Desi: It's my favorite thing in the world. So I, I watched that show forever and loved what the correspondents did, and I thought, oh my God, that's, that's my dream job.

Drew: It's such a platform for people.

Desi and Drew Weigh on Offices Going Barefoot

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/i52vxHjrZlML
Desi: Bosses are encouraging barefoot offices, hoping that comfy feet means happier employees and better work, and I think this idea definitely came from a totally normal and not creepy at all man.

Drew: Can you imagine those conversations? Well, how is that not an HR nightmare? So I'm thinking no shoes and no socks.

Desi: Sir, this is not a workplace. This is a cult you have here.

Drew: I again, I would need to see some stats on that. I do appreciate like a non-constricting aspect of the workplace. My feet do, my dogs are barking after wearing these shoes.

Desi: Give me a nice slipper. I am all about, I will walk around the ‘Daily Show’ offices in a pair of slippers like nobody's business.

Drew: I know. I love comfy cozy, so maybe there is something to it.

Desi: You know what, let's take, we, we can take our shoes off.

Drew: Alright, I have, I'm wearing some knee-high socks today. I'm very excited. I love a knee-high look. Now they said shoes and socks.

Desi: What's fair is fair. Alright, well, listen, do you think, by the way, is this raising the ratings or plummeting the ratings.

Drew: That's a good question. It could go either way. I don't know.
