Connie Britton on “The White Lotus,” Filming Season 1 in Hawaii During Covid and Working with Mike White

Drew: What do you think about ‘The White Lotus?’ It's almost hard to describe what it really has become.
Connie: I, you know, when we did it, guys, it was very early COVID, and we did it because they, Mike White, who is a brilliant genius, and Mike White has written and directed every single episode. You know, he's like, I can, I wrote this, I, you know, he wrote this thing that he's like, it all takes place in one place in one area, and we can do it in a finite space. And so, and the Four Seasons in Maui was closed so we went and took that over.
Drew: I've never seen any sort of portrayal of human behavior like the way that Mike White does.
Connie: He's just such an amazing observer of the way we are as human beings and I it's interesting because each season has been a little bit different.
Drew: I love that because it makes me not compare anything it makes me love each one on its own, did you guys like, did you, did you have an inkling? Did you know at all that it would become this, I don't even know how to describe it, juggernaut.
Connie: You never know anything. You never know anything, but I did recognize that the scripts were brilliant and that Mike is an incredible talent and so, you know, I was excited about it because I'm like, this is, you know, it's so exciting to be able to do TV like that. And especially to do a first season of TV like that, you know, it was really, it was cool. So, no, you can never expect it but yeah.
Connie on Being Able To Take Risks with “Friday Night Lights” Co-Star Kyle Chandler

Drew: What was Kyle Chandler like? Why was he like the dreamiest guy ever?
Connie: Oh my God, if you knew him in real life, he's just a big dork. But I love him to death.
He's really one of my favorite, yes, of course, and, and the thing is we're such good friends and because and we played those characters together, but because there was so much complete trust between us, it's like we could do anything we could take any risk, we could do anything we wanted because we trusted each other so much.
Drew: And you were the sexiest couple.
Beth Behrs on Being Joan Rivers’ Assistant and Her Red Carpet Advice
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/eV2abRxfmyp0
Drew: You know who one of my favorite people on planet Earth is, really and truly the icon of all icons, Joan Rivers. Did you used to work with Joan Rivers?
Beth: So I was working during college at the Geffen Playhouse, and she did a play there, and they hired me. She liked to run lines before every performance, which is 8 times a week, and as a college student I was her assistant…I mean, but she was not the Joan Rivers that you guys think. Like she was like a grandma. I saw her every morning, no makeup. She would be cooking me eggs. She'd be like, ‘Do you want a manicure pedicure? Let's have someone come over, go pick out something from my QVC line.’ I like it was night and day like persona, yeah, oh, so maternal. The persona versus the woman that I got to know was just like amazing.
Drew: I can't believe you got to get to know her.
Beth: She also like yeah. She also she paid for like she gave me like a bonus, I was like a struggling college kid and she paid for what I used the money for was a trip out here to see theater because she knew I loved the theater so she paid for my trip to New York, which was like pretty beautiful. She also told me her best, I did ask her as an actress. I was like, OK, I wanna be an actress like what's your advice? And the first advice she had was on my first red carpet I should trip because then all the press would be about me. Which I haven't, I never did, but now I'm like she wasn't wrong.
Drew: The woman knew.
Beth: The woman knew and as a comedian like would have been a great first red carpet story.
She also told me I should, vacuum with heels on around my future husband always, but she didn't know like I don't own heels really unless I'm borrowing them.
Beth Gets a Surprise from Stanley Tucci
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/MviHZaq4jAAo
Drew: By the way, is it true that you told him, which is so cute, and he apparently so supportive of it, that like you also love Stanley Tucci.
Beth: Love Stanley Tucci. Like he's my hall pass by far.
Drew: Which is hilarious, by the way, and not Stanley Tucci has swagger. Hold on, I have something for you.
Beth: No, you do not.
Stanley: Hi Beth, I hear you have a Stanley Tucci Cooking Club. I'm very flattered, and I hope that someday I'll be able to come there. If I were to come there, what dish would you make for me?
Beth: I have to cook for you. God, this is better than a hall pass because that's only one night and I can keep that forever. So we have this Stanley Tucci Cooking Club where we dress up like Stanley Tucci because we love him. I know we're such nerds, but, I'm gonna keep that forever.
Drew: I'll make you a little copy of that.
