Drew: One of the things that Savannah and I were talking about at breakfast the other day.

Savannah: Are trying to distract me from the pain.

Drew: Well, I'm just, you know, carrying on the conversation a little bit. I was talking about my kids in school and Savannah was helping me. I was making a choice about where they were gonna go and Savannah, it was like exactly what I needed to hear from you because I was feeling a little uncertain and insecure because I care about my kids' journey in a different way than I cared about my own so you were talking about like how both of us are not these like perfectly pedigreed people. And yet we have a life, we have a job. I appreciated how you were talking about your past, you know.

Savannah: You know it's easy to get caught up and whether it's about what fancy school you think your kids need to go to when I was saying to you, Drew like I feel so grateful every single day to wake up and get to be the anchor of The Today Show, but there's nothing about my background that would have suggested that could ever be possible. I grew up in Tucson, Arizona. I didn't have any connections. I went to a big public high school. I got average grades. I ditched school 35 times my senior year and got suspended, you know, I mean, it's like, but eventually it all kind of works out, you know, and I just got a tattoo.
