Gwen Stefani Gifts Drew a Daisy Flower Crown
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/uhUG3gVNyMuR
Gwen: I have a gift. It's not really a gift. I'm forcing this on you…back in the day, in the 90s, you were the queen. Like all of us wanted to be you and you I.
Drew: I think you're on opposite day actually in the 90s, everybody wanted to be you.
Gwen: And so, I was, I was like looking at like looking at pictures to get inspired for like just style and like thinking about you with all your little daisies in your hair and all that. So I made you a little daisy queen.
Gwen on Feeling Guilty For Wanting to Write a New Record & Why it Took 4 Years to Make
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/jXGfxzm7Gavu
Drew: And the whole album, you know, feels like extremely invitational.
Gwen: You know, the thing is, is that like I wanted to write a record so bad and I, it was like probably the end of 2020 and I was like, I, there's this inner voice, it's like, make a record, do it.
Come on, you want to. But I felt guilty like to go into the studio and take the time to do that.
Like I have a life with the kids and everything and it's, it's a lot and I also like have a lot of records and I've done it like I've done it a bunch of times, but I just couldn't like put it away like I just kept going in the studio. I kept going to like cul-de-sacs of like, oh, I'm gonna do skog and maybe I'll do like, oh, I'm gonna do reggae. Like I kept trying to chase my old self and like try to repeat or compete with myself, and it just, it felt like going in and getting my old prom dress and like putting it on and going, I love it, but, it's just not working anymore, you know what I mean? I gotta find where I'm at now, like who am I now? And at the time I started writing, it was right when I got engaged and that was just like it was 2020 you could imagine pandemic engagement and then you know then I got married the following year. So this whole record took 4 years to make 10 songs…it was like I wrote a lot of songs and I just really wanted to like handpick the best bouquet of songs to like almost be like to explain what was going on in a great way. And the first singles like a song called Somebody Else's, which is kind of about the past and, you know, what? I realized that you really do on this album, you needed to hear like how far the love grew and like after having to like scrape myself off the ground and like start over again, like it's a miracle. Like it's just such a miracle to be now 9 years in and yeah. 9 years with this guy, he's so cute too. That's how fast it's going.
Drew Shares How Gwen’s Advice Shifted Her Thinking
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/7bjqOG8G1C2u
Drew: One of the last things we talked about, which is the thing that really sat with me, because it, it just, it gave me so much hope, is that you would say you just had made this decision in a beautifully resigned poetic way of this is gonna be my life. I'm gonna be with my boys. And I'm gonna make my coffee every day and you know I don't know if love will come back into my life, probably not even and then the doors opened and somebody walked through them and changed all that and to hear that from you because I think you're Gwen Stefani, we all love you so much and then it's like I applied it to my own little tiny existence and I literally, I don't know who else did it, but it shifted something for me. Yes, it really did. It made me go from this is what's happening to me to these are my choices and now I also know and believe that my inner dialogue, which is this is my life, I wake up with my girls and this is our routine. And that's just gonna be what it is. It was the first person, you are the first person to make me think and one day that might not be true because the way you talked about it was so uplifting but also like we don't know the future we don't know the future.
Gwen on Working with Snoop Dogg on “The Voice” and Becoming Friends with Him
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/euHM37LIPvR4
Drew: By the way, what's it like hanging out with Snoop Dogg now on ‘The Voice’ because he's Long Beach, you’re Anaheim.
Gwen: Snoop is literally, this is a man that walks, just he walks with love. Like he is so full of love. It's so crazy. You would love him. He's just an easy guy to get along with. He's so positive.
He's, and he's just an icon and a character of himself, and he doesn't, it doesn't turn off.
Like that is who he is and he's a really good coach on ‘The Voice,’ so, I'm just so glad I'm on it this season.
Rosemarie Dewitt on Husband Ron Livingston Getting Screamed At For “SATC” Character Berger’s Breakup Post-it-Note
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/uDUpnJOz2ckK
Drew: I only found out today that you're married to Ron Livingston, Berger in ‘Sex and the City’
His new show is ‘Louder Milk,’ right? I I've been all about you.
Rosemarie: Stay all about me. He gets enough love. Look at this from the ladies.
Drew: Although I do want to ask a question if you, if you don't mind because it's a huge thing in my life that he just happens to be, well, the, the catalyst of. When Berger broke up with Carrie on the Post-it note, which is, by the way, so much more than us girls get now, that seems like a novel in the day and age of ghosting. I'm sorry. Now I know where you're at. Don't hate me. Well, that's, we'll figure that out later. I don't know, but it's, it's like it's so informative and everyone poo pooed it back in the day to me that's…
Rosemarie: Oh we used to back in the day when we first started dating we'd be walking in the West Village and there'd be the ‘Sex and the City’ tours and Ron would be like, go left, go left, and we'd have to like duck into Magnolia Bakery or something because women would come up and scream at him. They'd be like, you broke up with her on a post-it. So he really got a lot of heat for a long time.
Drew: Well, OK, so I just rewatched it again, because I kind of watch it every couple of years, and I watched it in real time when the show came out, and then I watched it a few years later and then a few years later, OK, now I'm gonna be 50 and I just rewatched it again from start to finish. Carrie, she's hard. She's like, I was like, I want to be Carrie. I'm Carrie, I'm Carrie.
Watching it this time, I was like Carrie, Carrie’s a lot. Carrie can push you away. Carrie has got some issues.
