Drew on Feeling Guilty About Rom-Com Endings & How “50 First Dates” Changed That
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/coqpRZENBmfn
Carla: How did you watch it? And how did you react to the rom com?
Drew: I think, you know, I have to admit I was and I don't even know if I've ever said this out loud, but because maybe I just thought it in my head. But for so many years, I felt guilty for promoting an idea of that. It all just ends in this big packaged bow. I'm like, OK, so it, it ends on this we got to other note, what happens the next day? It's almost like you get this big wedding and it's like, but then there's a whole marriage and not until I got to make this film ’50 First Dates’ that really changed everything for me because I was like, this is real. Yeah, this is the kind of story I want to tell. It's an ongoing daily, you wake up every day and have to figure it out together and it shouldn't be arduous and, you know, depressing. It should just be very real that it love is a daily practice. And I felt like that finally was a story that made sense to me about how to function in relation to

Drew: You and I have talked about dating and you actually made me much more of a dating optimist. I was feeling cynical in the moment. Yeah. The last time we hung out we went out, it was a really good, it was so fun. We just went almost bar hopping and yeah, and I was getting like funny enough just as we were talking about a dating app and I was like, I don't know, not having any luck on this one. And you just had a, you talked to me and you snapped me right out of it.
Kiernan: Oh my God Drew. It was, you snapped me out of everything in the best way.
Drew: That's what girlfriends do for each other. It was such a good night or tell each other the hard truth. Either one works. I was thinking literally about this time where I came over to your house and I was gonna spend the night because I've just broken up with someone and I was depressed. But I was like, there's nothing better in heartbreak than your girlfriends, I don't know what it is for guys. I hope it's your guy friends or, you know, and you go, come over, I'm gonna take you for a drink.
Lucy: Well, let's clarify for a second. If you don't remember, I found her hiding in my bushes.
She was hiding, she rang the gate and she was hiding and I came out, I was like, where, I don't see anyone here and then you kind of came out of the bushes with leaves in your hair and you're like, I don't want him to see me here. And I was like, what are you doing? Get in the house. She was hiding in the literally in the bushes.
Kiernan: Can you please hide in mine next time too.
Lucy on Her Son Rockwell’s Reaction to “Red One” and if He’s Watched “Charlie’s Angels”
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/O02j2lgHiH4Z
Drew: Is it true that Rockwell, Lucy's son, her beautiful son, said immediately when it was over that he wanted to watch it again.
Lucy: Yes, he did. And he said that he was so proud of me. Which, like, I can't, I was stunned and it made me my heart, like, burst open.
Drew: Has he ever seen ‘Charlie's Angels?’
Lucy: No. No, it's a little too much.
Drew: Boob?
Lucy: Yeah, I think you've got a lot of boob going on, you've got some booty going on. I think it’s too much.
Drew: You have some booty going on.
Lucy: Do I?
Drew: Yes. The pussycat dolls dance.
Lucy: Yeah that's the second one. But, no, he hasn’t seen it and I don't think it's the right time.
Kiernan on How She Felt About Turning 25
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/cpqPQrY7i2y7
Drew: Kiernan, you just turned 25, quarter of a century.
Kiernan: Quarter life crisis. Let me tell you, Drew okay, I was freaking out before I, I would, I would quite literally just be going about my day and, and then sort of descend into some sort of mental breakdown which happens and then yeah, I'd be freaking out about a random thing and then go and I'm turning 25 too. Like it would just happen to just come over me and then day of felt great. It was just the lead up that made me freak out a little bit, but I'm happy to be 25
Drew: You are so wise though. Like when we hang out, I literally, I'm always like, I trust you, you have such a good head on your shoulders. You have such a good heart. And age is something I've never asked anyone like, how old are they? Because it doesn't tell me where they've been in life.
Chad Michael Murray on Doing Research for “The Merry Gentlemen” & Being Terrified
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/QA972mcQFFLs
Drew: Did you do research for the dancing? For the art of the, I mean, it's very, very fun to watch.
Chad: There, there was some research I might have peaked at ‘Magic Mike.’ There's an outside chance that happened. I did not, however, which everyone wants to hear like, Oh I went to male review. I didn't go to a male strip club, didn't happen. Although, I probably should have because I could have seen like the honest like just the guys going for it like Thunder Down Under in Vegas or something. I didn't do it.
Drew: Did you like dancing? Because you do it so well.
Chad: You are so sweet. I am someone like it's not that I don't dance. I'm just around the kitchen or at a wedding kind of dancer. And the moment that this came up, I was terrified as anyone would be like, imagine, ‘Hey, so tomorrow you're going to start filming, you're half naked. And you're dancing but you're not trained.’ Go.
Chad on Waking up on His 25th Birthday & Changing His Life So He’d Be Ready When He Met His Future Wife
https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/BQ2lc8FO2hnv
Chad: I grew up in a family, five kids, just my dad, my dad was a single father and like I always told myself if I could be half the man that my dad was, then I'm doing all right. And my dad, like God bless him, like air traffic controller full time job raising all of us, we were bankrupt and he's, you know, just making ends meet just to put food on the table and that will always sit right there, that'll always be in my heart. And so I remember there was a time when people were telling me yes. And I got away from that. I got away from why I was doing this and what made me tick and I remember it was my 25th birthday. I woke up and I just, I didn't feel good. I was like, I don't really like the guy that I am. I was, I was pretty positive, like I don't like that guy and I knew who I wanted to be. I just didn't know how to get there. So I made a decision that day in good old Wilmington North Carolina, I went and got a tattoo….That was like step one tattoo. Seems like it's in the opposite direction…So it's a cross. It's the idea of it can be what you make it. And I started there and I started surrounding myself with older people who I respected, who had lived lives and had made mistakes and errors along the way and just started trying to become a little bit more like them and seeing their jovial spirits bounce around and I just made a lot of different decisions. Now, did that push me away from a lot of people? Oh, yeah. You know how that goes?
Drew: Yes, I do. I really do.
Chad: And things fall by the wayside and that was kind of the beginning of it. And I always ask myself, I said, you know, every time I'd go to therapy or whatever, I was doing whatever hard decisions I made, I said, just remember you're doing this for your future wife and kids. And, yeah, I was just doing it because I just wanted to be a great husband and a great father.
Drew: So had you met your wife yet?
Chad: No.
Drew: And you just celebrated 10 years together?
Chad: Yes, the greatest feeling like you can lay your head down at night 100%...I like putting my head down at night and just feeling grateful for the day and grateful for the moment and saying, hey, we gave it all I could do ABC D better, especially as a parent. You know, you're constantly trying to figure out and you've seen these little mirrored reflections of yourself going, ‘Oh, he's got my mannerism,’ mannerisms that I don't care for. Don't copy me.
