Ross on Meeting Gwyneth Paltrow Over 20 Years Ago & Becoming Instant BFFs

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/6WYjACGxFOmv

Drew: Well, you two go way back.

Ross: We met, you know, we met over 23 years ago.

Gwyneth: At the Oscars. He was on the red carpet doing interviews.

Ross: For Leno. Can I tell you quickly? This is how great Gwyneth is. I loved her and I gave her my email address that night and I said, you know, let's be best friends and the next morning she emailed me true story.

Drew & Gwyneth on if it’s Awkward Filming Love Scenes

Ross: I'm wondering when you're shooting things, like film, filming scenes like this, of course, you're professional. Right. But is it also kind of fun sometimes? Is it also, like, come on, like, there's been some hot guys and, yeah.

Gwyneth: I think it's weird. It's like you're making out with someone that you don't, you're not in a relationship with them. There's, there's no romance. It's like very mechanical.

Drew: Well maybe sometimes you have a relationship with them.

Ross: Have those lines blurred just to scosh.

Drew: A time or two. But she's right. For the most part it is like a colleague.

Gwyneth: Yeah. It's like a choreography but involving tongues.

Gwyneth on Returning to Films & the Photo of Her and Timothee Chalamet That made Headlines

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/hkfqkvwfaRZc

Ross: There was actually headlines can we talk about? Because I think you're shooting a movie right now.

Drew: By the way, I saw this picture, I'm dying.

Ross: Is it all right to talk about? So Timothy Chalet, you guys are shooting, there was some footage and pictures of you guys locking lips. Look, there you are. What is going on? Tell us everything.

Gwyneth: Well, I'm doing a movie which I haven't done in a really long time.

Drew: What made you come back out?

Gwyneth: Honestly, I think it was, it's a few things, you know, my son and stepson both went to college for the first time. They're both freshmen and my daughter and stepdaughter have gone already a couple of years ago. So, the nest is empty and I feel like there's this really grief filled part of it and then there's this part of it that's like, well, maybe I can explore, I don't know, my own creativity again or something like that.

Ross: I put question to a follow up. Were you a little nervous to go back into it? I mean, did you think, like do I know how to do this again.  Did you look at your Oscar and go, I know how to do this.

Gwyneth: Rubbing its head? To be honest, I was a bit nervous.

Drew: And what about Timothee?

Gwyneth: He is such a wonderful young man. He's very polite, very talented. Just so nice to be with. I'm really having a good time with him. I'm glad that I put myself, you know, out of, you know, just sort of back into fear a little bit again.

Drew: And also life is in chapters and maybe now that the empty nest has come. Like, I think about like should, you know, will I try that?

Gwyneth on this New Empty Nester Chapter of Her Life

Drew: What is it like with this transition of them out of the house? I hear you're making Brad's boyfriend breakfast again. And what does it feel like?

Gwyneth: It's incredible and you feel so proud that you raised kids that know who they are and can engage and have good manners and you know, who are hopefully gonna continue to be great citizens. And there's a lot of grief and then there's also this kind of like magical space that opens up and, you know, in a way, it's reminiscent of when I was in my twenties and in New York and, you know, walking around and deciding to meet a friend or like go to a gallery or something and just this space. So I'm like, sort of gingerly feeling out this new space while also being really sad that like, they're not in the house anymore.

Fast Five with Gwyneth

Gwyneth: What song always gets you in the mood. I think. I know this is cliche about sexual healing by Marvin Gaye. Oh What's the sexiest body part? I like abs. Is that bad? I'm very shallow.

Drew: No, I want honesty.

Gwyneth: What kind of underwear do you like to see a man wear? I think what Brad wears is what they call a boxer brief.  I'm very open. I'm not any underwear is fine.

Drew: Or no underwear. Do you ever go commando?

Gwyneth: Only when I sleep.

Drew: Oh, good to know.

Gwyneth: Are you, are you gonna wake me up in the middle of the night?

Drew: I'll just text, I'm just gonna text you and be like you get you feeling that breeze?

Gwyneth: Ok. My spouse gives the best advice. He does. He really does.

Drew: All right. And there's five questions but there's only four pairs of underwear.

Gwyneth: Oh, don't do it.

Drew: Here's the real underwear.

Gwyneth: What has happened to this show? If you could only wear one kind of underwear, what would you pick? Those.
