‘INSIDE EDITION’ HONORED WITH 2017 NATIONAL HEADLINER AWARD

‘Inside Edition’ Finalist for 2017 Deadline Club Award

APRIL 18, 2017 –INSIDE EDITION was honored with a 2017 National Headliner Award and was selected as a finalist for the 2017 Deadline Club Awards.

Taking first place for its “Food Fraud Series” in the “Business and Consumer Reporting” category, INSIDE EDITION’s National Headliner Award winning series was comprised of investigations that tested lobster, lamb, Kobe beef, parmesan cheese and other food industry transparency matters.

Honorees included Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero, Producer Larry Posner and Associate Producer Scott Phillips.

The National Headliner Awards program was founded in 1934 by the Press Club of Atlantic City and is one of the oldest and largest annual contests recognizing journalistic merit in the communications industry.

INSIDE EDITION is also a finalist for the 2017 Deadline Club Awards in the “Television Spot News Reporting” category for its 2016 interview with a Trump supporter, who punched a protester to the ground, at a North Carolina rally.

Finalists are Producer Charlie McLravy, Producer Colum Ward and Associate Producer Scott Phillips. The winners will be announced at the awards dinner in New York on May 22, 2017.  

The Deadline Club, which is the New York City chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, has been supporting and honoring the best in New York journalism since 1925.
