EVA PILGRIM JOINS ‘INSIDE EDITION’ AS NEW ANCHOR

NEW YORK – July 7, 2025 – Veteran broadcast journalist Eva Pilgrim will be the next anchor of the #1 syndicated newsmagazine INSIDE EDITION, it was announced today by executive producer Charles Lachman.

Pilgrim joins the venerable newsmagazine from ABC News, where she most recently served as co-anchor of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and Senior National Correspondent.

“We feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team as the next anchor of INSIDE EDITION,” Lachman said. “She has solid news chops from her years as a reporter and anchor in national and local news, plus a warm relatability that resonates with audiences. We look forward to having a journalist of her caliber take INSIDE EDITION into its next chapter.”

Pilgrim will take over the anchor chair this fall, as the newsmagazine, which reaches nearly 10 million weekly viewers, enters its 38^th season.  She will be only the fourth anchor of the long-running series, succeeding Deborah Norville, who recently departed after 30 years.  

Eva Pilgrim biography:

Eva Pilgrim most recently served as co-anchor of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and an ABC News Senior National Correspondent based in New York. Her reports could be seen across multiple ABC News programs and platforms, including “20/20,” “Good Morning America,” “Nightline” and “World News Tonight with David Muir.”

At ABC News, Pilgrim reported on a wide range of breaking news stories and events, including the 2020 and 2024 elections, the Alex Murdaugh trial, the Charlottesville rally, the murder of George Floyd, and multiple hurricanes.

Prior to ABC News, Pilgrim got her start in local news making stops in Bluefield, West Virginia; Columbia, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In 2021, Pilgrim published her children’s book, “Walter Does His Best,” which teaches children about kindness and love. 

Pilgrim was born in Seoul, South Korea, into a military family and grew up moving around the world. She attended the University of Florida and the University of South Carolina.
