October 29, 2014 (Sylacauga, AL) - ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT’s new correspondent Nischelle Turner sat down with Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Anna Marie Cardwell to discuss the recent reports that her mother June ‘Mama June’ Shannon is dating registered sex offender Mark McDaniel, the man that molested her when she was eightyearsold while he was dating her mother.  Cardwell, now 20, explains to Turner that she believes her mother chose a child molester over her stating, “It's like she's happy.  She's smiling and giggling when he's around. ‘He's a child molester, Mama. He did this to me. Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did?’”  When asked by Turner if her mother still does not believe that McDaniel molested her, Cardwell says, “I believe that Mama is going back and forth with it…We didn't talk honestly for three years. We finally decided we need to drop this, we need to get over it the best way that we can.”

Cardwell goes on to express her concern for her younger sisters, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, 9, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon, 14, and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon, 17, saying, “I worry about them now knowing that he's been around…I've told people that the only thing I would say for Alana is if Mama is around him, don't get too close, don't get too attached, don't be all lovey dovey on him, because you never know what will happen.”  While discussing the possibility of her sisters being taken away from her mother, Cardwell explains, “I talked to Mama the other day and Mama said, ‘If my kids are taken away, there's going to be hell to pay.’ I thought to myself, ‘Mama you did it to yourself, you brought him around, you let him come around the girls.’”
