"HAPPY DAYS" STARS SCOTT BAIO AND MARION ROSS REFLECT ON THEIR CO-STAR TOM BOSLEY
Los Angeles, CA - October 20, 2010 - Following the news that "Happy Days" dad Tom Bosley passed away in Palm Springs Tuesday, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT sits down with his co-stars Marion Ross and Scott Baio who open up about what the actor was like off-screen, for a new interview to air tonight, October 20th.
"He was like the dad on the show," Baio, who played Charles 'Chachi' Arcola on "Happy Days," said of the actor. "Tom would be [backstage] most of the time giving people business advice. ... He was constantly teaching us about life."
Meanwhile, Ross, who played Bosley's wife Marion Cunningham, told ET she developed feelings for the actor as the show went on. "It's interesting how it's play acting but after a while you forget that and I really did fall in love with Tom. ... I had no other husband at the time so I had no choice," she said with a chuckle. "We just fit together."
Bosley was reportedly battling lung cancer but Ross was convinced that he'd pull through. "People recover so well from cancer," she told ET. "I thought, 'Well, he's gonna make this.' He'll make it."
Ross said one of the last things she said to her co-star was that she loved him. "When I talked to him he was always in good humor. ... He said he was coming along fine."
Bosley passed away at the age of 83.
