ET DOMINATES THE OSCAR SOCIAL CONVERSATION WITH STAGGERING 49% INCREASE YEAR-OVER-YEAR

 LOS ANGELES – March 14, 2025 – ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT’s 2025 Oscars broadcast, which aired the day after the Academy Awards, saw an 8% year-over-year increase in total viewership in metered market households and a 14% surge among women 25-54. (Source: WRAP Overnights as dated, Live+SD 000s.)

 

On social media, from Sunday, March 2 through Tuesday, March 4, ET ranked first in the competitive set and saw an impressive 24.7 million engagements, marking a 49% increase year-over-year. 

  • ET beat out E! News by 1.7M and Variety by 12M social engagements.
  • ET ranked first in video views across social platforms with 219.6M, beating E! News by 50M views and Variety by 99M views. 
    • ET saw significant growth in video views on TikTok with 96.8M views, up 165% year-over-year.
  • ET garnered 5.6M views during the Academy Awards period on YouTube, beating E! News by nearly 1M views with 100 less videos posted.

 

ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT continues to lead the entertainment newsmagazine genre with 2.85 million viewers, beating the next closest competitor, Access Hollywood, by 173%.
