‘MODERN FAMILY’ ACTRESS ARIEL WINTER’S MOTHER ANSWERS CLAIMS SHE ABUSED HER FAMOUS DAUGHTER, ON FRIDAY’S ‘DR. PHIL’

(Los Angeles, CA – September 19, 2013) – Crystal Workman, the mother of “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter, sits down with Dr. Phil on Friday, September 20, 2013 to discuss what she feels are the true reasons that she and her famous 15-year-old daughter are now legally separated (check local listings).

Last fall, Winter went to court claiming she was abused by her mother and asked the judge to grant full custody to her 35-year-old sister, Shanelle Gray.  The judge ruled in favor of Winter who has been living with Gray since the hearing.  Workman claims her daughter’s allegations of abuse began when she forbid Winter to see her 18-year-old boyfriend.

In his trademark no-nonsense style, Dr. Phil gets to the heart of the matter by asking Workman directly if she has ever physically or emotionally abused her daughter, why Gray made similar claims against Workman 20 years ago and whether she was an over-controlling stage mother.

The syndicated series, DR. PHIL, was created by Harpo Productions, and is produced by Peteski Productions in association with CBS Television Distribution.  DR. PHIL, entering its 12th season, is the #1 ranked syndicated daytime talk show, a position held since the conclusion of The Oprah Winfrey Show in May, 2011.
