Anniversary Season Premieres September 16, 2013

CULVER CITY, CALIF. – September 9, 2013 – To commemorate 30 seasons of answers and questions, JEOPARDY! will bring back 45 JEOPARDY! champions for a competition 30 years in the making: the Battle of the Decades Tournament. Top contestants from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s will vie for a million-dollar grand prize in several rounds of play, which will air in stages over the course of the season. The tournament is one of the highlights of JEOPARDY! Season 30, which kicks off September 16.

“JEOPARDY!'s 30th seasonpromises to engage and reward our viewers like never before,” said executive producer Harry Friedman. “The Battle of the Decades Tournament is a unique way of honoring the show’s past while creating exciting original programming that will keep our audience talking for years to come.”

Fans will have the opportunity to bring their favorite players back to the JEOPARDY! stage, as one tournament contestant per decade will be determined by viewers’ votes. Voting for “Fan Favorite” contestants will take place in Fall 2013 on Jeopardy.com, Facebook, and Twitter.

Other season highlights include an unprecedented travel sweepstakes, the return of the popular Teachers Tournament, College Championship, and Teen Tournament, and the debut of a beautiful new set with a brighter, richer color palette.
