Drew: You, at a certain point, were asked to be on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as a cast member and it was the same time that you were making the pilot for ‘Jackass.’

Johnny: Well, I was really honored that Lorne Michaels offered me five minutes on the show each week to do what I do, videos and what not, and I had to choose because, one thing, I was going on to an established show  where I would have little control, and at the end of the day it’s like, ‘Am I going to go into a situation where I have no control or am I going to bet on myself and bet on my friends, and go that direction?’ Ultimately, I bet on myself and I bet on my friends, which could’ve been a disaster…but luckily it worked out. And, some would argue it was still a disaster.

Johnny on Doing The Bull Stunt Again In New Film

Drew: On this ‘Jackass’ you decided to do the bull stunt again. And, we have a picture.

Johnny: Well, I was trying to do a magic trick in front of the bull and I don’t know if the bull hated magic or hated my execution of magic, but whatever it was it worked out really good for footage and not so great for me. Yeah, I had a broken wrist, broken rib, concussion, brain hemorrhage, spent the weekend in the hospital and it took me a few months to recover from it. But yeah that was my last moment with the bull I believe. My neurologist insisted upon it. You know I’ve had a number of concussions and I’m a little older now and I don’t feel like I have anything else to prove and I have kids and I want to be there when they get older.

Johnny on His Dad Being The Inspiration Behind “Jackass”

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/bfDneQdh14VJ

Johnny: He would do little things around the house too like dad would always want to wake me up in the morning and sometimes I would just get a glass of water in the face…and then he would start telling me jokes as soon as I woke up and I thought it was hilarious because he was so excited for me to wake up. But, I was in the shower, he would pour ice water over the top, he was constantly doing things like that, and I remember, my dad passed in 2018, and I had just been with him in Tennessee in the hospital, and I flew home. And my sisters called and said, ‘You need to come back dad has taken a turn for the worst.’ And I did and I got to the hospital and my sister was outside. She told me dad had passed, and it devastated me. But at that time I hadn’t told anybody I was doing another ‘Jackass’ or wanted to, and I wanted to get there in time to tell him that I was because he loved it so much and I thought that would make him feel better, and I never got to tell him that. But, I mean he was so proud. Just when someone would deliver a pizza to the house, he’d open the door and go ‘Home of Jonny Knoxville’…he was selling used cars and on his card it said, ‘Dad of Johnny Knoxville.’

Drew: Then he’s definitely up there giggling and cheering you on with the world’s biggest pom-poms and I mean Johnny that is what you have done, you’re risk reward payed off. You got to make something that changed the zeitgeist and the culture.

Tori Kelly on Picking Up Her Grammy’s at her Local Drug Store

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/1to1nlRAHFW6

Drew: Where did your Grammys end up?

Tori: So, people don’t know, You go on stage and you accept the award and everything, and people think that’s like you’re actual Grammy, like you go home with that. And that’s not true at all it’s just a prop, everyone’s just holding the same Grammy. So you walk off stage and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ and they’re like, ‘Thank you so much,’ and they just take it away. They send you the Grammys in the mail like way later, so this was like months and months later and I finally get a notification. So they’re like, ‘Hey you weren’t home we tried to deliver this package and you weren’t here so we sent them to the local drugstore where you can pick up packages.’ And we filmed the whole thing because we thought it was so funny, me being like, ‘Hey I think there’s two packages here, like this big, they’re golden.’
