Drew: Oh my goodness Emma. How are you?
Emma: I’m good, I’m so pregnant and so happy to see you.
Drew: Now how pregnant are you?
Emma: I’m not as pregnant as people think but very pregnant.
Drew: I have had the fortunate pleasure to be pregnant twice. I don’t even know how I got pregnant twice, I mean I do know how I got pregnant twice, it’s a miracle, it’s a miracle to be able to do it. Look I know a lot of people do it but still I couldn’t believe I got to be pregnant but towards the end you’re just like ready.
Emma: Yeah. I’ve hit the point where like half way up the stairs I have to sit down sometimes and maybe tears rolls down a couple times a week. But no, I’m so grateful and feel so lucky especially in such a crazy year like this to have been able to have something else to focus on and have something to be excited about and so I feel really, really lucky. I am just so excited to meet him, it’s like edge of my seat anticipation.
Drew: May I ask though because I just think being pregnant in itself can be so unknown and intimidating and wildly wonderful, and then on top of it with a pandemic. How have you mentally overcome or dealt?
Emma: Well I feel so lucky because literally four of my close girlfriends were pregnant this year or have had a baby this year. So I have had such a nice support group of other women that either were ahead of me in their pregnancy or on their second baby so I felt so lucky that I had people to text at all hours of the day and night. One of my best girlfriends she’s up every two hours breastfeeding so literally we will be like, when I can’t sleep we are texting. She’s like, ‘I’m feeding the baby,’ and I’m like, ‘Help me with this. What about this? Oh my God I forgot to buy bottles, burp cloths, where do I even get that?’ It’s been so nice to have other women to talk to that are going through that. I think if I was the only person pregnant during this pandemic and isolation I would feel even more isolated. So I’m just so grateful that I haven’t ever felt that way for a second during this whole process.

Drew: I think people on New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s and birthdays they feel alone and they don’t want to be alone so how amazing would society be if everyone was like, ‘I’m totally independent and cool, I need nothing but I have a built-in buddy for holidays.’ I was like that is the best concept like not just for a movie but in life.
Emma: Yeah I agree. For me I’m like I feel like I’ve been doing this concept on Valentine’s Day with my girlfriends where at this point even my friends that have husbands are like, ‘We want to hang out and get sushi and watch a movie on Valentine’s Day,’ and so that has always been the best celebration to me of Valentine’s day.
Drew: I believe they call it Galentine’s.
Emma: I’ve never heard that. Galentine’s? Okay I love that.
