JEOPARDY!’ TO SHOWCASE BIG CHAMPIONS AND BIG WINS

IN LEAD-UP TO ENCORE PRESENTATION OF

2019 TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Three-Week Spotlight Series Starts June 15

Tournament of Champions Encore Presentation Begins July 6

CULVER CITY, CALIF. (June 11, 2020) – JEOPARDY! is taking a new approach to its summer programming: instead of simply re-airing this season’s Tournament of Champions, the show will reintroduce the 15 top players whose stellar performances cemented their spots in the tournament. Starting June 15, over the course of three weeks, JEOPARDY! will focus each day on one of the 15 TOC contestants, giving viewers an opportunity to revisit what the producers have selected as their “best win”. An encore presentation of the 2019 Tournament of Champions will follow, starting July 6.

For the first time, we have a chance to shine a light on each individual player before we revisit a big tournament,” said JEOPARDY! Executive Producer Mike Richards. “Some of these contestants played quite a while ago, so we hope that highlighting their biggest games will provide a deeper understanding of their specific strengths and how they earned their places in the Tournament of Champions.”

Highlighted players and games will include James Holzhauer, holder of more JEOPARDY! records than anyone, as well as the player who finally defeated him, Emma Boettcher. More information about the TOC contestants can be found on the following page. The full schedule is as follows; it can also be found on Jeopardy.com: https://www.jeopardy.com/jbuzz/news-events/summer-kicks-big-champions-and-big-wins
