CULVER CITY, CALIF. (April 23, 2019) – On today’s episode of JEOPARDY!, James Holzhauer, a 34-year-old professional sports gambler from Las Vegas, Nev., became only the second person in the show’s history to earn more than $1 million in regular-season (non-tournament) play when his 14^th win brought his total winnings to $1,061,554.

“Despite what ‘The Social Network’ says, $1 million felt really cool,” said Holzhauer.

The only other contestant to earn more than $1 million in regular-season games is Ken Jennings, whose 74-game streak yielded $2,520,700.

In addition to passing $1 million, today’s game was an additional milestone for Holzhauer: winning his 14^th game means he is now in fourth place on the all-time JEOPARDY! consecutive wins list. Only Jennings (74 wins), Julia Collins (20 wins), and David Madden (19 wins) have won more.
