(Hollywood, CA – February 24, 2015) – In a daytime exclusive jailhouse interview, Dr. Phil speaks with Dalton Hayes, the Kentucky teenager who last month allegedly went on a two-week crime spree in the Southeastern U.S. with his 13-year-old girlfriend until ultimately being caught by police in Florida. The episode airs tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25th (check local listings).

Hayes and his girlfriend made national headlines when they allegedly forged checks and stole cars, while evading police across five southern states, reportedly leaving a trail of chaos in their wake. Dubbed by some, “The modern day Bonnie & Clyde,” referring to the notorious young outlaws from the ‘30’s, the nation watched as a manhunt ensued to capture them until they were ultimately apprehended by authorities while they slept in an allegedly stolen truck. Hayes has since been indicted by a grand jury on a multitude of charges including second-degree rape. He has pled not guilty and remains behind bars at the Grayson County Detention Center in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

In the interview, Dr. Phil asks Hayes about his relationship with his girlfriend and the events that led them to run away; if he was aware that their every move was making national headlines, how he felt when he was finally caught and why his young girlfriend allegedly pleaded with him not to take her home to Kentucky. Dr. Phil also speaks with Hayes’ mother Tammy Martin to get her thoughts on the crimes her son allegedly committed and if she truly knew his girlfriend was just 13.
