‘Hot Bench’ Is the #1 Rookie First-Run Strip of the Sweep

LOS ANGELES – December 10, 2014 – A trio of CBS Television Distribution shows --  DR. PHIL, JEOPARDY! and INSIDE EDITION -- posted year-to-year growth in the November sweep, according to Nielsen Media Research.

DR. PHIL was the #1 talk show in syndication with a 3.5 HH rating, up +3% vs. the November 2013 sweep.  It beat its nearest talk competitor by +13%.

JEOPARDY!, powered by the two-week Tournament of Champions, jumped +6% vs. the November 2013 sweep with a 6.9 HH rating.

INSIDE EDITION grew +7% vs. the November 2013 sweep to a 3.2 HH rating. INSIDE EDITION was the #2 ranked newsmagazine, behind only perennial leader ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT (3.6 HH rating).

In an impressive feat, three CBS Television Distribution shows averaged more than 10 million viewers during the sweep.

JUDGE JUDY averaged 10.22 million viewers (7.2 HH); WHEEL OF FORTUNE averaged 11.98 million viewers (7.3 HH); and JEOPARDY! averaged 10.87 million viewers (6.9 HH).

Among freshman first-run shows, HOT BENCH was the #1 new show in households (1.7) and women 25 to 54 (0.8). Since its September premiere week, the court program has grown  +31%.  Created by Judge Judy Sheindlin, HOT BENCH finished the sweep as the #2 court program (tied with “People’s Court”) after only JUDGE JUDY (7.2 HH).

CTD led the November sweep with 6 of the top 7 shows in first-run syndication. The top 10 first-run syndicated shows of the November sweep are:
