August 26, 2014 (Los Angeles, CA) –Widow of legendary comedian Richard Pryor, Jennifer Lee Pryor, has confirmed to ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT that Oprah Winfrey will be playing Richard Pryor’s grandmother, Marie Carter, in The WeinsteinCompany’s biopic directed by Lee Daniels.  Marie Carter is known for being the primary guardian to Richard Pryor.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that comedian Mike Epps will play Richard Pryor in the film, which will be produced by Jennifer Lee Pryor.
