JOE FERULLO PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF CURRENT PROGRAMMING
Becky Brooks Joins CTD as Vice President of Current Programming
LOS ANGELES – September 11, 2014 – Joe Ferullo has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Current Programming, it was announced today by Hilary Estey McLoughlin, President of Creative Affairs for CBS Television Distribution.
In his new position, Ferullo will oversee the division’s current first-run series, including ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, JUDGE JUDY, RACHAEL RAY, INSIDE EDITION, THE INSIDER, DR. PHIL, THE DOCTORS and the upcoming new court show HOT BENCH created by Judge Judy Sheindlin.
In addition, veteran producer Becky Brooks joins CTD as Vice President of Current Programming, reporting to Ferullo.

Ferullo, an award-winning television producer, joined CTD in 2006 where he held the title of Vice President of Programming and Development. In 2012, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, where he spearheaded two content partnership deals between ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and MSN, and THE INSIDER and Yahoo!. These deals brought in revenue and expanded both show’s online brand presence. In celebration of INSIDE EDITION’S 25 years on the air, Ferullo worked closely with Simon & Schuster to create and publish a commemorative book.
Prior to joining CBS, Ferullo was a producer at NBC and NBC News. He wrote, produced and directed network primetime specials, including a two-hour retrospective of the series “Friends.” He was an award-winning writer-producer for “Dateline NBC,” working on investigative pieces and special reports.
His work has been recognized with several national awards. Among them: an Emmy as part of the NBC News team that reported the events of 9/11; an Emmy nomination for his story on Vietnamese war orphans; an Education Writers Award with Maria Shriver for their look at inner city schools; and a Writer’s Guild of America award for a breaking news report on conflict in the Middle East.
Before landing at NBC, Ferullo worked at ABC News and the news departments of CBS stations in New York and Los Angeles, was a screenwriter and was a staff writer/reporter for numerous publications, including Rolling Stone magazine. Ferullo graduated from Columbia University in New York.
Brooks is a television production veteran with over nine years of experience working on two of CTD’s newsmagazine programs, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and THE INSIDER.
Most recently, Brooks served as the Co-Executive Producer on CTD’s THE INSIDER, where she helped manage the daily operations of a 24-7 news cycle that produces coverage across broadcast, online and social media outlets.
Brooks first joined ET and THE INSIDER in 2004 as Senior Supervising Producer where she managed program content and produced special projects for both shows. She was promoted to Senior Broadcast Producer in 2008 where she co-managed both shows’ content.
In her time with ET and THE INSIDER, Brooks was instrumental in managing relationships with film and TV studios, overseeing numerous brand integrations and working on THE INSIDER’s partnership with Yahoo!
Brooks started her career in news, working as a writer and line producer for ABC, KCAL and KCBS, and then went on to manage KCAL/KCBS’s entertainment department. She later joined “Access Hollywood” as a field producer and film segment producer.
Brooks graduated from University of California Santa Barbara and received her bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in law and society.
