(Hollywood, CA – September 9, 2014) – DR. PHIL, television’s #1-rated syndicated daytime talk show, continues its ripped-from-the-headlines premiere week with an exclusive interview with David Barajas, the Texas father who, in a recently concluded trial, was found not guilty of charges of murdering the drunk driver who killed his two young sons. Barajas did not testify at trial and speaks for the first time, along with his wife Cindy, only to Dr. Phil, airing tomorrow Wednesday, September 10 (check local listings).

In December 2012, David Barajas, and his 12-year-old son David, Jr. and 11-year-old son Caleb, stepped out of their broken-down truck attempting to push it down a country road, when it was struck by 20-year-old Jose Banda, who was intoxicated.  Banda was found a short time later with a gunshot wound to the head and prosecutors alleged that Barajas shot Banda in a fit of rage. On August 27, a jury acquitted Barajas of the charges.

Sitting alongside his wife Cindy, both wearing buttons displaying pictures of their two young sons who died in the tragic crash, the couple speaks to Dr. Phil about the events of that fateful night, the heartbreaking loss of their two sons, and the effect the ensuing trial had on their marriage and entire family.
