BACKSTREET BOYS’ NICK CARTER DISCUSSES HIS DRUG ABUSE AND SOBRIETY,
AND TEEN MOM FARRAH ABRAHAM DEFENDS HER NEW BUSINESS
ON "THE DOCTORS," MONDAY, OCTOBER 7
(Hollywood, CA – October 4, 2013) – Singer Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys discusses his personal battles with drugs and alcohol and how he turned his life around after being diagnosed with a heart condition, on THE DOCTORS, airing Monday, October 7 (check your local listings). Plus, former “Teen Mom” Farrah Abraham attempts to explain how she balances her risqué business interests with motherhood.
Former teen heartthrob Nick Carter offers a cautionary tale to young pop stars like Justin Bieber in a frank discussion with THE DOCTORS regarding his years of drug and alcohol abuse and explains why other young celebrities fall prey to addiction: “You can get whatever you want in this industry,” said Carter. “It’s a vicious cycle and if you don’t have a good support system and good family and good friends you can fall into that hole.” Carter also reveals that being diagnosed with the heart disease cardiomyopathy was the impetus for changing his life. “I was blessed to listen to the doctor,” he said. “It changed my lifestyle…I completely eliminated drugs and alcohol.”
Farrah Abraham, who gained notoriety for an internet sex tape and earlier appearances on reality TV as a pregnant teen, is questioned by THE DOCTORS about her choice to get involved in a new line of sex toys and the difficulties she and her young daughter will face, particularly when her daughter reaches school age. When asked what she will tell her daughter at that time, Abraham responded, “She’ll know the reasons why things happened…I go to work, I do licensing deals, I create products…I’m very open and honest about it and my choices…that’s something I’m actually proud of.”
Tune in to THE DOCTORS, Monday, October 7 (check your local listings) for the full Nick Carter interview and watch as his fiancée Lauren comes up on stage to lift and squat her husband-to-be. Plus, special guest dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee offers important skin care advice for the Fall and The Doctors play the “Which Is Worse For You” game.
