THE INSIDER EXCLUSIVE: MARISSA JARET WINOKUR ON HER 60-POUND WEIGHT LOSS

"I see myself in the mirror and it hasn't sunk in my brain quite yet that I've lost as much weight as I have."
October 31, 2012 (Los Angeles, CA) --THE INSIDER'S BROOKE ANDERSONgets an exclusive look into Marissa Jaret Winokur's radically changed lifestyle. Jaret Winokur invites Anderson into her Los Angeles home to discuss her recent 60-pound weight loss, her father's passing and her battle with cervical cancer.
When asked by Anderson about her self-image pre and post-weight loss, Jaret Winokur replies "When I was a size 14, I was super happy...I felt confident in my body. I don't think a size really should define who you are, and how you feel about yourself...the Doctor [was] saying I'm not healthy...so I need[ed] to change my way of life. But, interesting enough there are moments in my life [where] I felt more comfortable in that body sometimes than in this body.”
Despite her significant weight loss from a size 14 to a size 2, Jaret Winokur wonders if it will ever be enough for Hollywood, “I definitely have moments where I'll go to an audition or a meeting and girls are just so much skinnier...I'm still in Hollywood. I still will be considered a chubby actress.”
Jaret Winokur takes Anderson through her closet full of various sizes and admits to holding on to her old wardrobe, saying "I still have 'em because I'm sure I'll gain it all back. I know it's horrible, but here's the thing...my fear is what do you do? I have jeans that fit me great and what if I gain it back? I need those jeans."
Extremely content with her newfound lifestyle, Jaret Winokur tells Anderson"I've had a great career. I'm happily married. I have a beautiful son. I've never felt like my weight defines me."
Tune into THE INSIDER to watch Anderson's exclusive two-part interview, starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 1st.
