BARBRA STREISAND TO APPEAR ON 'GLEE': "NOT IF I CAN HELP IT"
February 11, 2011 (Los Angeles, CA) - ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's Nancy O'Dell sat down with Barbra Streisand for a new interview to air Monday, February 14.
Barbra Streisand was honored on Friday night at the Grammy's Musiccares event in Los Angeles where the music and screen legend dished to ET's Nancy O'Dell on her feelings about "Glee"'s renditions of her songs and if she would ever consider doing the show.
"Not if I can help it," Barbra replied when asked if viewers could expect to see her in an episode of "Glee." "I have seen some of the episodes. My niece, my young niece, saw ‘Funny Girl' on DVD and said, ‘How come you're singing so many songs from ‘Glee'?'"
The popular FOX sitcom has used some of Streisand's songs in the past, some of them being sung by Lea Michele who also performed a tribute to the Oscar winner at the event.
"She's pretty good," Streisand said of Michele.
In addition to her dynamic career in entertainment, Streisand has also been known for her strong political views, but would she ever consider a run for office?
"No, no, it's so scary," said Streisand. "I like being on the sidelines giving my opinions."
With the United States Presidential election coming up in 2012, Streisand kept mum about whether she would be active in President Obama's re-election campaign, but she was outspoken on how she felt about Sarah Palin's possible bid for office, saying, "I wouldn't be encouraged if I heard Sarah Palin's going to run."
The Musiccares event kicks off Grammy weekend which culminates in the airing of the award show Sunday on CBS.
