CAMILLE GRAMMER TALKS SEX TAPES, HER ADULT FILM PAST, AND SPEAKES OUT ABOUT SEEING HER CHILDREN WITH KELSEY'S NEW WOMAN FOR THE FIRST TIME
January 19, 2011 (Los Angeles, CA) - ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's NANCY O'DELL sat down with Camille Grammer to discuss the rumors about her pending divorce from Kelsey Grammer. The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" reality star sets the record straight about sex tapes, adult films in her past and how the buzz started that her ex is a cross dresser.
"It was a joke," Camille tells Nancy of her appearance on Howard Stern's radio show, which is where the insinuations about Kelsey began, but she says there is no truth to them. "It is just sad that people don't realize it was a joke. I think it maybe went too far. We were joking around. I love Howard and I love doing interviews with him. I didn't mean for it to go that far."
Camille also sets the record straight about the adult film that some of the other women on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" were sending e-mails about.
"That's a horrible rumor, too," Camille says. "When I found out that girls were sending out e-mails, I was like, 'What kind of people are these? And why would I do a show that these girls would do that?' I thought that is an awful thing for your castmates to do behind your back. A few years ago, I did a movie called 'The Naked Detective' that I am not proud of. I was young. Actresses fall into these traps when they are young and naïve. It is something I don't want to talk about, especially because of my children."
But Camille was hurt that the other women would do that to her, saying, "That is a part of the show that I don't like. That is going too far. I, myself, am not probing into their lives. Everybody has a past. And everybody does and has done things that they are not proud of, but I am not probing and sending mass e-mails out to my friends or to the press."
Camille also puts the kibosh on the gossip that she and Kelsey made sex tapes.
"There are no sex tapes... They can stop talking about the sex tape," says Camille, who also denies the rumors that she and Kelsey had an open marriage.
Then, Nancy asks Camille if she has any concerns about how Kelsey is being portrayed because of their two children -- a son and a daughter.
"Of course, I want to protect him," Camille says. "I want to protect my children, but I think what he's done to me is absolutely awful. He left me to go to New York. He didn't want me to come because he said with rehearsals he was too busy. Then I find out he moved somebody else into our apartment that we found [to live in] together for the duration of the play. Then after that, I found out she was pregnant and I found that out right after I filed for divorce ... a couple of weeks after."
Camille goes on to say that she is not trying to be vindictive, because she realizes -- and has said in the press -- that she wants to be friends.
"I have reached out to him time-and-time again because we need to co-parent and raise our children and it can't be through text and e-mail and that is the way he is doing it."
As for the fact that Kelsey wants a quickie divorce so he can marry Kayte Walsh, she says, "I got the news that Kelsey wanted out of our marriage via a phone call from a mutual friend who said, 'I don't like what your husband is doing.'"
When Camille asked what he was doing, the friend indicated that Kelsey was leaving her, so she called and texted Kelsey, getting no response.
"Finally, she got a late-night call in which she says he said, "Yeah, I've been thinking about it. I just don't want to be married anymore. I asked him, 'Is there somebody else?' He said 'no' but there will be soon."
Camille met Kayte for the first time last week, just before Kelsey went on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
"So I went down, saw her, shook her hand said 'Hello.' She was pleasant ... nice enough and I said congratulations and good luck. What else can I say at this point? I'm not bitter about that."
When asked how she felt about seeing her children with Kayte for the first time, Camille said, "That's uncomfortable. I think I was more upset when I heard she was in the green room with them on David Letterman, that hurt."
Finally, Nancy asks Camille about her plans to return for a second season of her hit Bravo show, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." Camille says, "The producers and I will discuss that after the reunion show is aired; We will come to a decision after that."
