SEASON THREE OF THE EMMY AWARD-WINNING SYNDICATED SERIES THE DOCTORS PREMIERES ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

Brand New Segments, a Fresh Look, and a New Book Are All at the Forefront of the 2010-2011 Season

(Hollywood, CA - September 2, 2010) -  On Monday, September 13, 2010, THE DOCTORS, from Stage 29 Productions and CBS Television Distribution, kicks off its third season with a segment called "Project Unhealthy" that will surprise regular viewers of the series by showcasing Dr. Travis Stork, the epitome of healthy eating and fitness, eating nothing but fast food and junk food for an entire week while documenting the severe toll it took on his body to illustrate the effects of unhealthy eating.  "With obesity numbers increasing at a staggering rate, I felt compelled to experience firsthand the effects of not exercising and eating the same kinds of unhealthy meals that many of my patients and our viewers eat on a daily basis," states Dr. Travis Stork.  "My hope is that by temporarily reversing my healthy ways and indulging in foods that are high in saturated fats and loaded with sodium, I will be in a better position to relate to our viewers and motivate change."

In the premiere show, Dr. Stork, along with Dr. Lisa Masterson, Dr. Jim Sears, and Dr. Drew Ordon will also introduce viewers to several new segments that will become permanent fixtures on the series.

"Our viewers rely on us for accurate information that is delivered in a relatable way, and we will not stray from this winning formula," states Creator and Executive Producer Jay McGraw.  "That being said, we have come up with a few exciting enhancements, both creatively and visually, which we hope will make our message of promoting good health and wellness even more accessible and interesting for our audience."

A new segment of THE DOCTORS will be called "Ask Dr. Lisa," during which she will answer all the important and embarrassing questions that women want to know, with absolutely no subject off limits.

An additional recurring segment of Season 3 featuring Dr. Lisa will be called the "Motherhood Survival Club," where a rotating panel of celebrity moms will gather to discuss the latest trends, challenges and vital information that moms need to know.  Celebrity moms such as Vanessa Marcil and Bethenny Frankel are slated to appear on the "Motherhood Survival Club" roster early in the season.  The doctors will also encourage moms from all over the country by giving them the tools to form their own survival clubs.

THE DOCTORS will also introduce a feature called "Virtual Consults," where viewers will be able to get a virtual medical consultation live on the air.  A new segment called "How to Treat It" will offer quick solutions to everyday problems.

Technically, the series will have a new look when THE DOCTORS is broadcast in high definition.  In addition, the show will utilize a new interactive touch screen, previously exclusive to news broadcasts, which will allow the doctors to manipulate the animated graphics that have become a signature feature of the show.   This "Magic Wall" will be able to take viewers on a journey inside the human body like never before.

Additionally, THE DOCTORS first book, THE DOCTORS 5 Minute Health Fixes:  A Prescription for a Lifetime of Great Health, will be released by Rodale on Tuesday, September 14.  In the book, the doctors translate complicated information into positive solutions to change people's lives.

During Season Three, THE DOCTORS will continue to call attention to various world health crises through the hosts' volunteer efforts.  In January 2010, the hosts traveled to Haiti to aid in the medical relief efforts following the devastating earthquake, bringing with them over 7,000 pounds of donated medical supplies.   During this past summer, Dr. Drew returned to Haiti to visit an 11 year old boy named Emmanuel Pierre, who he performed cranial surgery on after the earthquake.  Footage of the dramatic reunion between Dr. Drew and Emmanuel will air on THE DOCTORS in the fall.

Upcoming episodes early in the season will feature wellness and fitness expert Jillian Michaels and Danny Cahill, a recent winner of "the Biggest Loser," who will reveal his transformation after having almost 15 pounds of excess skin removed by Dr. Drew.

THE DOCTORS is pleased to welcome the following stations that will begin airing the series on Monday, September 13:  WFTV in Orlando, KPLR-DT in St. Louis, KGTV-TV in San Diego, WTEV-DT in Jacksonville, and WGNO in New Orleans. For local listings, please visit http://www.thedoctorstv.com/.
