KATE GOSSELIN: "I DON'T HAVE TIME TO BE A DIVA!"
April 14, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- THE INSIDER's NIECY NASH sat down with fellow "Dancing with the Stars" competitor Kate Gosselin yesterday in Los Angeles for a new interview to air tonight, April 14th and tomorrow, April 15th.
When asked if she moving to Hollywood with her eight children, Kate laughs and says, "I heard that. Didn't you see my moving trucks out there?," she jokes. "No, it is not true. 'I'll move to wherever there's work to provide for my kids, but no there are no plans."
On her estranged husband Jon's allegations that she is an absentee mom, Kate asserts, "Even though I'm not physically there, I'm very much mentally and emotionally there even when I'm away. And it's not easy. No working single mom is ever going to find this easy."
Kate says her eight children are doing well despite the distance, "They're flourishing and blossoming in front of my eyes. They're doing well in school and are happy, well adjusted kids."
She goes on to tell THE INSIDER the biggest misconceptions of her that's been portrayed in the media, "That I'm using my kids for fame and celebrity, which is plain ridiculous. Also, I swear they're nailing the 'Dancing with the Stars' people everywhere about the diva effect. I don't have time to be a diva. I don't request certain sorts of bottled water."
Does Kate have any regrets about her relationship with Jon? "There are no regrets because I have eight wonderful kids. I can't let myself go there and say what I would do differently. But going back, I would probably change the way we speak to one another. Maybe I didn't talk to him always in the right manner."
Kate's new book, I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith and Family is in stores now.
