March 23, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT sat down with Betty White last Friday in Los Angeles as she taped a guest appearance on "The Middle," for a new interview to air tonight, March 23rd.

Betty tells ET she grew very close to Sandra Bullock as they filmed 'The Proposal' last year, but does not want to get caught in the marital rift between Sandra and husband Jesse James. "I think that's Sandy's business; that's not mine," she says. "I love her with all my heart. [She's] one of the greatest human beings on the planet."

She goes on to say, "We're all deeply, deeply saddened. At such a high-point in her life, it's tough, but I think the less other people have to say about it and let her work it out, it is [for] the better."

Betty will appear in May's season finale of ABC's "The Middle."
