"JERSEY SHORE" STAR SNOOKI ON OVERCOMING PRIOR EATING DISORDER: "I WOULD ONLY EAT A CRACKER OR A CUCUMBER A DAY"

January 19, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- Nicole, AKA "Snooki" from MTV's hit show "Jersey Shore," opens up to THE INSIDER about winning her battle with an eating disorder and how life is now after her wild summer at the shore, in a new interview to air tonight, January 19th.

"In high school, I really wouldn't eat," Snooki reveals. "I would only have lunch, and I would only have salads. It got so crazy that I would only eat a cracker or a cucumber a day and I would feel full. I would go into the nurse's office every day and I would weigh myself. When she [the nurse] realized that I hit eighty pounds, she was like, this isn't good."

The reality star says the school nurse notified her parents of her disorder, causing her to take action and reclaim her health. "My parents told me, you need to eat, this is very dangerous. So I gained my weight back to like 98 where I always was."

Snooki also tells THE INSIDER how her newly-found fame is affecting her family, "My mom is pretty upset about what she sees obviously as well my dad. I did warn them that a couple nights I got out of hand."

What's something viewers would be surprised to learn about Snooki? "You probably would never guess that I used to go to church every week growing up and I was actually an altar girl."
