YOUTH PREVAILS IN JEOPARDY! TEEN TOURNAMENT --Cincinnati Student Takes 1st Place and Wins $75,000!--

(CULVER CITY, CA, February 22, 2008)?? Rachel Horn, a 15-year-old sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, defeated two 17-year-old high school seniors, Zia Choudhury and Rachel Cooke in the finals of the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament Friday, Feb. 22.

Horn, a student at Walnut Hills High School, is the youngest female player to ever win the Teen Tournament in its 21 year history. "At first, I felt like I would be at a disadvantage, but I was able to put their seniority behind me and just concentrate on the task at hand," said Horn. "I was pretty shocked when I went up against Zia and Rachel and was able to come out on top.  They were both really strong players."

"It was pure fun and an incredible experience to actually be on the show," said Horn. "Standing behind the lecterns that I've seen a thousand times on television, buzzer in hand, was almost unreal!"

When asked what she'll do with her $75,000 winnings, Horn replied, "My winnings are going to go into a savings account and sit for a couple of years, until I need them for college tuition."

An avid musician, Horn plays the alto saxophone and is also learning the flute, piano, and guitar.  A music lover, a few of her favorite bands and artists are the Beatles, Tower of Power, Teddy Geiger, Duke Ellington, and the Great Big Sea.

Rachel Cooke, who attends Fishers High School in Fishers, Indiana finished 2nd and won $25,000.  3rd place winner Zia Choudhury, a student at Lone Oak High School in Paducah, Kentucky. took home $18,000. During the two-week competition, the tournament featured 15 students from across the country.
