Chris on Meeting His Wife Katherine

Chris:Five, maybe six years ago. God has a fast forward button, you know, when it's right, boom. You get hit, you fall in love, you get married, now we have two beautiful daughters to add to my family. It feels really great. There was a moment in my life where I was really struggling and felt really broken. For me, my own journey of finding a higher power and leaning on that and feeling like, 'Please save me,' and feeling saved. And shortly later meeting the woman of my dreams. It's all about timing. There's a perfect plan out there for you. You have to have faith.

Drew:And you guys met in a place of faith?

Chris:Yeah, we met at a church. I was in the front row of church. And you kind of don't want to be like, 'Woah, who's that?' at church. But I was sneaking some glances and wondering, 'Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing! Come on, I'm broken, help me. But who's that?' So we hit it off. We didn't start dating right away but we met there and later on, ended up going out.

Chris on Wife Katherine’s Book on Forgiveness

Drew:When your wife was here, I bonded with her on her book about forgiveness, which I think is such a powerful thing.

Chris: "The Gift of Forgiveness," she wrote this book where she chronicles seven different stories and their own journeys with forgiveness, and there's nothing about it that says you need to do it one way or you need to do it another. She was just really looking at people in their forgiveness journeys and it's a fabulous book.

Drew:It's true, and she explores so many variations and forms of forgiveness.

Chris: And when I screw up, I say, 'Hey, remember your book. Remember, forgiveness is a gift honey, so you should probably forgive me.'

Drew: Well I asked Katherine dating advice, and she said, 'You should talk to my mom.' 

Chris: Yeah, matchmaker Maria.

Drew: Should I ask her to matchmake me?

Chris: She loves it. Yeah! I think that would be great...She and Katherine both think obsessively about this stuff. So if you set them out there, they are going to hurry it up and get you along.

Drew: Well I've been single for seven years so I think I'm ready...For something fun and lovely.

Chris: That should be pretty easy.

Drew: It's not...You know what I really want? Is just to get along and be happy. I don't want any drama. I just want to enjoy life.

Chris: That's good. If you want that, I think you should be able to find that. Knowing that you want that is important. Don't go for a difficult person.
